I have a friend who has two Challengers on Order - Both Orange. One with Sunroof, one without. He wants me to list them on Ebay for him - I sold his SSR a few months ago for him but have never sold a car on ebay. Jerry bought the cars thinking he would keep one of them. He is now thinking he would like to sell them both and has heard the stories of people getting 10-20K over sticker. What are the chances of someone with no experience on ebay selling one of these cars ? Are they truly going for that much over MSRP ?

Thanks,

John

...some might, most won't.......it will depend on how early he gets the cars....I have mine both ordered at MSRP (which he obviously does too), and had another dealer call last week wanting to sell me one at MSRP(I've had several dealers call me since the production order date was announced hoping to sell me one).....personally, I know of NO ONE who has paid over MSRP yet, and there are occasionally dealers advertising on various sites at MSRP(even POA a few weeks ago)....

...the potential problem, the 08 starts production in Apr for May delivery and will be ALL SRT8 models, which not everyone wants, 09 models will be produced starting almost immediately in July with a 6 spd and more colors offered...the production numbers have been raised for the 08 to 6500 units I think, more than announced at first.....most people I know are waiting for the 09 with the 5.7 HEMI, 6 spd and more colors.....keep in mind, there will be PLENTY of these cars made in a few short months, they're not going to be limited production

....just my take on the story, and I may be wrong

...08, depreciation will happen fast as the 09 hits the streets a few weeks after the 08

...08, projected 6500 units, thats alot to suck up in 60-75 days, especially SRT8 models

...09, 6 spd is what many are waiting for

...09...better color selection

...above all, we have waited 34 years, whats another few months to save several thousand $$$....I'm patient when necessary

I think the 08s are worth MSRP ... the limited production of 6400 is a plus, the SRT8 pkg, which is a WHOLE LOT more than just the 6.1 hemi, is a major plus. And I don't think they will depreciate that quickly. The total production numbers to be produced on the 09s and up are going to be much higher, as high as 40-60 thousand units I've heard.
I am very sad that I missed out on getting one... just me.

We will see...

And I just saw an 08 Blue Charger SRT Bumblebee. OMGosh..... I absolutely love that car. The black stripes with the Alcoa wheels just work. I took Shelley up to see it today. Beautiful. If I could pick one of those up at a decent price....... of course, I really want my 05 Copperhead Viper back ! Oh well. Life with five kids in private schools.....

Larry,

I'll find out how early he will get the cars. They are gorgeous..... at the Dayton Auto Show last year I just stayed there and kept staring at it. Orange. Orange Prowler, had an Orange Viper and wouldn't it be cool to add an Orange Challenger ???????
