What was the first year they put shocks on the hood to hold it up? My 99 has a prop rod and I thought all 99's had them but a guy at a car show said his 99 came with hood struts. |

Mine had the hardware for it on the hood hinges but prop rod too. I just put a strong arm on yesterday and it's a beautiful thing. |

They changed in the middle of production, so some had them, some did not. |

a lot of running changes, this being one of them Mine was built 6/26/98 and had the cowl cut and one shock ball hole drilled, but prop rod..... At some point earlier models didn't have the hole or the cowl cut to clear the gas shocks. Tom had a very early yellow that wasn't cut. Tom Mills made a kit to convert to gas shock, so I have both the prop Rod & gas shocks (the day I went to remove the prop Rod couldn't find a bit to fit the screw and just never looked at it again) |

Thank you for your responses. I guess mine is correct and so is everyone else's, no matter what it has. |

for those that don't know On the tag on the drivers door at the top shows month and year built BUT In the label is MDH and stands for month Day & hour in military time Mine is 6/26/13 (think it was 13.... Which is 1pm) it might be 12..... been a while since I looked at it. So the month/year is 6/98 This shows it was started to be built on June 26th 1998 @ 1pm ...... since it was late in the day found a label from final that showed 6/29/98 ...... so a true Friday/Monday car of the original run of Yellow |

I was told that the reason the dealer had mine for so long is that as soon as he got it he had a Paxton super charger installed and then kept it as a toy to play with. |
