I've replaced my 1999's battery and alternator within the past year and still haven't figured out my issue.

The voltage while idle fluctuates at 12.2/12.3, when revving the engine it can get up to high 12's.

I have discounted the black alternator cable while running and the voltage does drop, and come back up when reconnected.

Any help would be appreciated. I can't seem to figure out why the low voltage.

Check the crimped end of the heavy power wire that connects to the alternator. I have seen a few that the connection goes bad. Look close as it is not easy to spot.

Also you can go underhood with engine running...find good ground for a hookup to a digital meter(lowes has some for $30) and PROBE the connections from alternator with other lead..if connection is bad you will have a difference in reading from stud on alternator and further down on cable when you probe....Sometimes when you check these problems without alot of disturbance the problem becomes apparant...
When you find it let us know...jim

Alternator voltage regulation is controlled by the PCM.

That's what I am worried about, but no codes. I currently have it at the dealership. They are saying the direct alternator output is fine.

I should also note that occasionally while driving the air bag light comes on with the deck lid light, but both go away quickly.

If it turns out to be PCM, then compare Dealer PCM repair costs with this company.....
