If U R looking for a quick and ez solution to your weak hood support struts, just cut a 1/1/2-2" section of black rubber/plastic hose (1/4") Cut the hose length-wise and then just slip it over the strut rod when the hood is open (both sides) and it will hold your hood up for any length of time. It's a $2 fix at best! Plus, if you use a black hose, not many, if any, viewers will ever notice.

Great idea.
If you have a picture to post that would be great.

Careful on that idea. When you forget that you put them on the struts and bend the hood trying to shut it. Depending on what you use.
The PT Cruiser guys have bent a few trying to shut their hoods without removing the hood prop which is a short one at the rear part of the hood as this would be.Just my opinion

The best solution is, simply to add a "hood prop rod" to your hood .......problem solved......😎

Have any of you that did not have hood struts, add hood struts? I have a 99 which came with the hood prop, would love hood struts but afraid of doing more harm than good to the hood by adding them. Thoughts?

A while back there was a discussion regarding easy solutions to keep the hood from coming down when the lift supports become weak or are cold.
I knew I had purchased a product years earlier but was unable to recall the brand and couldn't find anything on the internet anywhere.
Today I was at my local Advance Auto Parts Store buying another set of replacements for my car and inquired about the item I recalled purchasing years ago. Here it is!
The downside is that these are "Old Stock" that had been unsold and were marked as Discontinued in the store's computer.
They had two in stock and I bought them both.

The Lift Lock is made by Pylon Manufacturing Company out of Deerfield Beach Florida and the Catalog Number is 8200.

Before posting here, I looked up their website to see if they still offer this product but didn't see it listed. http://www.pylonhq.com/products/
I went ahead and listed what information I could, just in the event someone here likes what they see and wants to pursue tracking down a set.
For what it is worth, I saw nothing on flea bay shortly prior to posting this information.
