Thanks guys. I was told that the part was no longer available.
However with the part number, I've just placed an order for 2.

I've been trying to find them also, but with no luck. Dealer says back-ordered, and no date when they will be available. I even tried to buy some of the chrome ones from Gary. He does not have them because he can't get them from dealer either.

I have been restoring the Cat for about 15 months now. It is 98% done, but one of my front caps is now missing, and none available. Only hope now is Chrysler will make another run, someone will make after-market copies, or maybe I'll be left one in a will or something.

I am afraid things do not look good for Chrysler to make another run. My supplier says we should know by May or June if Chrysler is going to do anything. The next choice would be to have some made through injection molding. We would have to order a large quality to make the price reasonable. Machining them will be very costly. We will just have to wait and see. When I hear something I will post.

I'm finding out that placing an order and having it filled are two different things.
I have been informed that the Upper Ball Caps are back ordered.

do a search, automotive grease fitting caps---sae products seems to have a lot.not exactly the same but will work.try clips and fastners.com-under connectors nylon and rubber.some very good possibilites there wth some creatvity, remember you can use a small amount of 100 percent silicone to hold them in place,or remove your rears and put in frt and use a a/m ones for rr.which are much harder to see.

Please correct if I am wrong, but the rear suspension does not have upper a-arms like the front and does not have caps for the ball joints. I just checked my Prowler to make sure I was not crazy.

There are ball joints and grease fittings and caps on the bottom on the rears and on top of the fronts.

We can learn something new everyday. I had just checked the right side of my rear a-arm and it did not have one. Just checked the right side and there was one there. Missing one cap. I do not think that is a big deal. Can't see it anyway like Catfish said. Offers little protection. Just keeps the grease fitting a little cleaner. Good information to know.

I called another major MOPAR supplier today.
After checking there were none in their supplier's warehouse and 17 customers are on back order with Chrysler.
I guess our only other option might be scrap yards (but after a search, I found out that they don't care about small inexpensive parts)...... or an owner that purchased chrome ones from Gary, and have originals left over.

IF you have an original cap that the retainer has been broken during removal, MAYBE it would be possible to break off the other tab and install a magnet with a pre made hole in the center of it which may hold it in place.

Another thing would be maybe find a rubber cap designed to protect the grease fitting and glue it to the cap.

Another choice may be to somehow figure out how to install a rubber "O" ring over the ball joint that would provide enough friction to keep a cap in place.

Just thinking out loud here for what it may be worth.

Sounds like the old beachcat magnet trick, might work.
Need someone to give it a try.

Just ordered 4 Ball Joint Caps #4865031AA from local Dodge Dealer. $10 each (rounded). He claims there are hundreds in stock at a Mid-West warehouse. 5-6 days to get to East Coast. Hope he's correct! I'll update when they arrive.

Follow-up to my earlier post. Just picked up my Ball Joint Grease cap/covers from Dodge dealer. $8.90 each and they have Prowler Kat logo. Not a generic cover. Chrysler parts computer shows "Hundreds in stock". Guess someone at FCA authorized a new production run. Bless him/her. Go figure.
