Frank brought the mascot back into the USA and I now have it in my possession. It rode with TopCat for a day. I will take it to the RT 66 non-event and pass it off to someone from out West or someone heading to Deadwood. I have had it a couple of times. I wish I would have had it last year when we went to Austria and I could have passed it on so it could have toured Europe. Anyway, that is the latest. On a side note, I was welcomed into the East Coast Posse as a member and I consider that a huge honor. Thanks ECP. |

I passed AUSTIN off to Pauley and he gave it to Larry Lord, as far as I know. If anyone else had it for part of the trip, please speak up. |

The Armadillo was passed from Larry Lord to Alley Cat, pic to follow. As we make friends along the way on these trips, so does the armidillo. |

Is that an American flag displayed on the rear of that blackKat? If so, i aint fussin'; but its improperly displayed. The field of stars should always be top and left whenever used as decoration. |

i am certainly no expert on the american flag, but the one i have hanging from the weekender was sewn improperly. it is dedicated to 911 and the one who did it has the writing on in an incorrect manner. jopefully i am not confusing you. gad |

We deal with flag protocol all the time at events - American flag, state flags, foreign flags, city flags, UN flag, etc. There is proper protocol for each one in many situations. Concerning the American flag, whether being displayed horizontally or vertically unless on a moving object, the blue field with white stars is always to be displayed at the top left hand area. From the guidelines: 8. When the flag is displayed in a manner other than by being flown from a staff, it should be displayed flat, whether indoors or out. When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. When displayed in a window it should be displayed in the same way, that is with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street. When festoons, rosettes or drapings are desired, bunting of blue, white and red should be used, but never the flag. Also - Flag protocol dictates that flags painted on vehicles such as planes and trains appear as if they are flying the way the wind would be blowing so the blue field would be on the top front (right) side on the right of a vehicle.
