Just got a prowler all that lovely exposed front wishbones and wheel hub , callipers.etc , Look pretty good just slight traces of corrosion , If I want to keep them that good on a car doing 5000 miles a year any tips apart from cleaning does it help spraying exposed areas in WD40 or something similar ?? If you already very much like the appearance of the exposed front suspension of your Prowler, I'll wager you'd like even much more than that the appearance of a chromed exposed front suspension for your Prowler ( http://www.prowlerproducts.com/Main%20page.html ): Incidentally, WELCOME to the Prowler OnLine forum! |

That is really beautiful. One of the mods that really holds its value. Must be a job to keep it gleaming. |

My stock suspension is glossy because it has clear coat over it. I looked at some other cars and they look flat. Are most shiny like mine or flat? |

I think 97's and early 99's were clear coated, after that they were not. Mine 99 had clear coat, but was corroding under it and looked like crap. So I polished them. |

quote:Actually, the biggest difficulty I had with my chromed set-up was not its chromed front suspension per se, but removing all the black brake dust that had accumulated over the years on the back side (body side) of each chromed front wheel --- despite the fact that the car had fewer than 4,000 miles on it. After eventually giving up on trying any further to remove all that accumulated brake dust myself, I took my Prowler to a conscientious shop owner who first removed its front wheels, cleaned them of all their accumulated brake dust on their back (body) side, and replaced the front OEM brake pads with aftermarket ceramic brake pads to cut down greatly on any future, very noticeable, black brake dust --- per the very helpful advice I'd received earlier about ceramic brake pads in my thread titled, "Products to Clean Off Brake Dust At Back Side of Front Chrome Prowler Wheels" ( http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/004625-2.html ). In regard to my Prowler's chromed front suspension itself (purchased from Prowler Products by Gary), I periodically wax mine, not just for protection, but also to make it easier to deal later with any street dust, as does avoiding the streets surrounding a quarry-related operation about two miles away from me that specializes in making a mess nearby it by transporting tons of crushed stone daily. quote:It is. I've no regrets with my chromed set-up, for which I'd also obtained its chromed upper ball joint covers, also offered by Prowler Products by Gary, part number CBJC. I didn't lightly make the decision to purchase a chromed front suspension from Prowler Products by Gary, which is run by fellow Prowler Online member, GaryE. In fact, it took me probably two years or more to make that purchase, because it's not inexpensive, and it can require a substantial deposit, understandably so, given the twit who elected to keep GaryE's chrome front suspension, and the requisite "core charge" front suspension which that dishonest slimeball buyer previously agreed to return --- but never did --- to Prowler Products by Gary. In contrast, you'll see after a bit of sleuthing on this forum, that GaryE himself has a deservedly EXCELLENT reputation. But don't just take my word for it; check it out for yourself. In any case, when I saw your comment at the outset of your thread here that you already very much like the appearance of the exposed front suspension of your Prowler, I thought to myself you'd very much like even more than that the appearance of a chromed exposed front suspension for your Prowler, so that is why I mentioned that option for you. I say, "GO for it!" as you're likely not getting any younger, nor, unfortunately, is the sole purveyor of that quality, chromed, front suspension Prowler set-up from GaryE.
