Read an article on it in Old Cars Weekly just in the last few months. Don't remember what they quoted a cost. If I remember right he installed it on his Packard in 53, Caddy looks to be same era.

No it never caught on. And really why would you want it? But for those with $$$$ like gadgets, why not.

I can see a elec or hydro unit to lower the tire from the trunk, must be sturdy to hold the weight of the rear of the car back then, but it says it connects to the drive shaft to turn. Trying to picture it, but can't.
