Greetings all,

So as a winter project I was thinking of painting the inside of my rims to cover/correct the pealing chrome on the back side. Mine are pretty bad. I really don't want to spend the big $$$$ on re-chroming. So I was thinking of paint. Don't know what color though. I considered black or maybe yellow to match my Kat. However I also considered a light gray in hopes to not draw much attention to it.
I would love everyone's thoughts. Anybody willing to share some photos of rims painted or maybe another idea I may not be thinking of? PlastiDip?

I think silver would look best if painting them

But chrome is best

Mean Mesquite-O.... I also am sitting here debating same thing. Check back at recent previous posts on this subject. Helpful info. I have decided on a dark grey (same color as brake dust..) Black or color match would mean cleaning. ANYTHING, is better that my peeling chrome, not soooooo obvious. Hope this helps. Andy

I ground off the chrome and sprayed them with a rubberized rocker guard product. Its a mat black and really the inner barrels do not stand out at all. They are a non issue now.

Another feature, being rubberized, tire foam cleans them nicely. It's been on a couple of years now and is holding well. I will find or take a picture when I get a chance.

I like that idea Beachcat! Would you be able to send along a link to the paint you used? I think that or putting some kind of wrap material would be the best bet for me.
Thanks for all the input!

Here is the stuff I used. The link is for Canadian Tire stores but I'm sure you can find it or a similar product in the US.
