Been a while since I've posted.... wanted to share some photos of our Prowler I took this weekend. Kind of X-Ray style.

DITTO! I want to know where that is as well! My dad worked for Carter Oil, which later renamed to Humble Oil. (Later Enco and Exxon.)

TLRandall- I'd love to but Rookies never have weekends off.

Adacus- it's two photos in one. I used a tripod took the first one and then I would open the hood or remove the tire etc on the second one. I then placed one on top of the other in photoshop and removed part of the first one revealing the bottom photo.

The gas station is 26026 Hempstead Highway (basically Spring Cypress and 290 it's about a 1/4 mile from the intersection)

Very nice pictures. That "x-ray" effect is too cool.
I'm on the fence about those wheels though. Very imaginative.

mmmm Photoshop, nice work. The old camera method is pretty much in the dark, set a long exposer and time it. When you count half way down or so shut the hood. Photoshop has come a long way to even better replicate stuff like that.

I've found a couple tricks for double exposing on the old film cameras. For 1 you can double the f-stop and iso setting (fooling the camera). If your camera is "not capable" of double exposure, take the first picture, then with the film release button pressed (to rewind it), flip the film advance lever. The film won't advance but it will fool the camera and allow another picture to be taken. Ultamately, exposing the film to half light twice makes for a fully exposed double exposure picture.

I think I just might venture out to this place Friday.

I like the wheels too. I was planning to do that with chrome to a set of black powder coated wheels that I have. How'd you do it?

Of course it will be about 3 more years before I get back home to try it. :-)

Sorry guys it's taken a while to respond.... (idive was right)

@ Ondone- I purchased another set of wheels (wanted to keep my chrome ones) and had the chrome removed before I had them powdercoated. If I was to do it again I would skip the chrome wheels and get some 97 silver painted ones. the process of taking the chrome off just added an extra expense and they scuffed portions of them which had to be fixed before the powdercoat could be applied. I then purchased the pin striping decals from a guy on ebay they are actually for motorcyle rims. The guys company is DGX (dunstanggraffix.com) not sure if he is still in business. He was really helpful sending me different color samples before I purchased them. They are also reflective like the bumper shimmers. (total cost was a little over 1k)

@ Ivegotsugar- Weekends off right? I wish... I've had some great FTO/FTI though I must say. Been lucky enough to be on a powershift now and love it.

@ xtreme prowler - glad you liked them it's always a pleasure to work on Prowler photos.

@ legokat - cool pics, clean car.... and even cleaner garage!
