I'm traveling south and I want to pull my prowler trailer and I want to know how much weight it can hold and how fast can I drive with it. Another thing I want to pull my motor cycle and I want to know how much weith my prowler can pull. Thanks |

In California the speed limit for a vehicle pulling a trailer is 55 mph. Other states have differing laws. But I can tell you from experience that with any less than 300 pounds in the trailer, they will start to get a little floatie at anything over 109 mph. The maximum towing weight for a Prowler is 1000 lbs with a max tongue weight of 100 lbs. This message has been edited by Larry Lord on 07-20-2008 at 06:00 PM |

We almost always pull our trailer with over 400lbs in it and have no problems, we do not pull faster than 75mph and are very carefull to keep the shifter in manual mode to keep the teansmission from changing gears and wearing out the bands. You can expect the MPG to drop into the 20-22 MPG range when pulling as explained above. I also have pulled my MC but the bike only weighs about 500 lbs and the trailer is 350 or so. Good luck and have fun Prowlin. Les & Sonia |

Other than posted speed limits the trailer has full size car tires on it an there is no speed limitation on it. You won't even know it's there. |

Tom Mills took a picture of my speedo when we were on the Chelsea Proving Grounds at 109, he thought of it when he seen 115 on the speedo, don't know if anyone else has been over 100 but I have on many occasions Had I know we would drive as fast I would have unhooked the trailer, 85 MPH in the upper lane at 85 I was turning right to go left, was told that you need to run at least 100 to drive in that lane, was afraid to do it with the trailer. The 115 was in the lane below the highest bank Mine is usually full of crap, chairs, canopy, tools, cleaning supplies and some clothes I get 20~24 MPG pulling the trailer, found it does better and does not hunt when in hills with the autostick in 4th gear cruising on the interstate, just remember when you slow down or stop to either put it back in auto, of shift when needed. I don't even know it is there except on sawed concrete that is not very even, then it feels like a flat tire, but does not happen very often. Rememebr it is there when changing lanes..............LOL ------------------ |

With trailer weight at 385 lbs we usually have about 250 to 300 lbs, center loaded over the axle and usuall about 65 to 70 lbs tongue weight. Tires are inflated at 24 lbs and you can fly at any speed you feel comfortable. We were over 100 on some back roads, right down the center line. Very stable. |
