Prowler Pride ***Newsletter*** Table of Contents: 1. Happy Memorial Day to all!.. from the appointed newsletter publisher. ++++++++++ Secondly, here I am, El Aliga (Island Prowla') composing the debut edition of the NorCal Cats newsletter. Due to much-easier online & publication logistics, the newsletter will be circulated via the e-mail, not snail-mail channels. My apologies to those who may be tech-challenged. Many of the contents are some thoughts gathered from various Prowler owners. So now, please reply & interact back. Let us know your wants, dislikes and positive comments. Nor Cal Cats Cruisin' Mt. Diablo Summary Last Saturday's cruise run also known as Devilish Delight with the Proud Prowlers went on with awesome fanfare and excited faces from all the attendees. With a bright sunburst and temps in the high 90's, the day started with a delightful palate of the Guptill's hospitality consisting of continental breakfast refreshments & introductions. Indeed, the pool was sparkling & tempting. With 20 attendees, ten Prowlers in cavalcade of colors paraded through the upscale Danville CA streets. Then, all went snaking the mountain-side twistie roads, soaking in the panoramic views, waving to the awe-inspired lookers.. then to the Summit Observatory point. Well, the devilish trek got to Tim's snazzy silver with the coolant flowing out. Amidst the enjoyment, he forgot to keep an eye on the temp gauge with his AC on while going uphill.. topless.. No biggie, he found out what the famous Cat Camaraderie is all about as we all donated water filler for his thirsty radiator. On to the next stop and all made it to lunch at funky cool Eddie Papa's, Pleasanton where the chef owner welcomed us with great service & great grub... cuisine. With all refreshed, the final cruise point went to renowned bike-builder celeb Arlen Ness' Showroom & Museum. THANKS & Attaboy Awards to Bengy G and Joel C for masterminding the reunion and igniting the spark... much to the delight of all. For some super pictures forwarded by one of the cruisers: Click on: http://picasaweb.google.com/el.aliga/NorCalCatsCruisinMtDiablo Graciously coordinated by Tony & Carolyn Baldassano, it's cat cruisin time to the renowned Sierra foothills & one of top US destination*, Lake Tahoe. Last fall's planned event was rained out. So now, mark your calendar or better yet sign up now & make plans for a great spring outing with the Prowler Fun Bunch. Added attractions are the popular Rolling Chrome-Tahoe Thunder and Opening Day Lake Tahoe 2008 festivals. See separate posts for Details. Click on the URL websites for awesome pictorials of the places. As posted by our So Cal friends, Ken & Roslin Romain, "The Southern California group is planning a trip up the coast. Oh no... Lake Tahoe Cruise canceled...possibly to be arranged at a later date Carolyn & Tony Baldassano, Lake Tahoe Event Coordinators had an unfortunate home emergency. "It appears that "water" is again destroying our plans for this event." emailed Carol. "Last year it rained in September (It canceled the fall LT tour) and now water flooded our home." My Best wishes to T&C and sorry for their inconvenience. I and perhaps some will make the independent trip while enjoying life's blessings amidst it's ups & downs.. |
