Hello everyone!!!
I am in the process of searching for a 99 Purple Prowler. The one I am looking at the present time shows an unusual wear spot on the outside edge of the drivers leather seat. Are there replacement seats available or can just this individual seat be reupholstered?
I hope to have a Purple 99 Prowler in my possession soon. You guys are part of a pleasant and informative discussion board. Just by browsing around I have learned a lot already which of course is helping me out in my search.
Please let me know what you think I should do about this drivers seat. Thanks for your help everyone and I wish all of you a Happy Easter!!!

Seats are not avialable from Mopar that I know of. I have seen seats ocassionaly on Ebay. I am getting custom upholstery, as have several on this board. I currently have no plans of selling my original seats but I have been contacted by others insterested in buying them if I do. This may give you an indication as to availabilty. From what I have seen you are looking at between $500 & $800 per seat to have it reupholstered. If it is the bottom only than it could be less. If it is the seat back you will have a difficult time finding someone that can duplicate the cat logo. Tom Mills was or is working on and upholstery deal but I have not heard in a very long time the status.

I have also had my seats redone. I have the foam and leather from my passenger seat that can put on your seat frame. My is from 2000 Prowler. I will sell both the seat back and seat cushion with faom & leather for $400 plus shipping. Someone mentioned that they thought the leather was different on 99's than on newer ones. I checked at a dealer (of course they know everything ) and was told there was no difference. If the leather does not match you may send it back to me and I will refund your purchase price.

Have you thought of custom sheepskins. We put them on for around $400. A good reason for sheepskins is in the winter they are warm and in the hot summer you don't fry your butt. We got charcoal and they look great and fit like a glove. Send us a pm for the mfg of them .

I bought my first Prowler in 2000. After I bought it, I found a bad spot in the leather on the drivers seat. It was a very thin spot in the leather on the left seat bolster. When I showed it to my dealer, they ordered a new seat cover from the factory. As I remember, there was a zipper on the cover that came off and also one on the seat that went on. I think the Prowler tech there at the dealership just unzipped the old one and pulled it off. Then he just slid on the new one and zipped it up. I might be wrong, but, that is how I remember it. You might check to see it anything like that is still available. Worked for me.

Once again I want to thank everyone for giving me such great advice on the worn drivers seat on the 99 Prowler I'm looking to purchase. It actually looks like a bad wear spot caused by its current owner. Please check out the enclosed pic and see just what you guys think. I don't feel that just by hitting that spot with a little vinyl dye it will make it all go away.
Thanks again everyone and Happy Easter!!!
You guys are 2 cool!!!

The leather on the 2000 and later models is smoother and softer and a bluer grey color. I may have a used cover for a 99 that may work for you.

That is correct the seat backs unzip down both sides and slide off. You have to remove the headrests first. They are held on with two clip wires that you can reach when you un zip the backs. The bottom cusions are held on with clips or hooks. The leather and the foam are attached and come off as a single piece leaving only the seat frame. . I am keeping my old seat foams and leather. I obtained another set to have recovered.

Tom good to hear from you. Where have you been? How is the bullet nose Stude coming?

TooHipCat, according to the 99 parts catalog the part number has not changed. It's a complete cushion with cover and pad. The cover is not available separately. List price $985. POA price $649. Recovering may be the most economical way to go. Bruce

My 99 Purple seats are different from my 2001 Mulholland. The 2001 are much smoother leather.

not sure if still available from chrysler.tl is right on the leather.first 99s had a rougher leather and later 99s much smoother.which one is yours.you might have to compare to another 99 to figure it out.when they changed to the smoother leather all the later ones are the same.

Take to a good trim shop and they can insert just that piece on the bolister.I have had several seat repaired by having new material sewed in (inserted) and trimer can match up orginal leather. That spot wears due to getting in and out and butt rubbing it.Vettes also bad for this.I have a streetrod and had to redie it and came out nice and that was appro.1 year ago.A body shop paint suppliers can match color if want to dye.
