I've installed a new nose camera after the dealership scraped the nose during a oil change. used a license plate camera system
Cut the camera off the bracket leaving the mounting bolt holes that I used to mount it on the car
Bolted the camera on under the spoiler to give it a low profile
Image of object 5 feet from nose of car. Image is displayed on Alpine 7" retractable DVD screen. The camera is activated by a button above the audio speed button next to the radio.
Picture of object 3 feet from the nose of the car.
Picture of object 6 inches from the nose of the car.

Is the dealership going to repair/replace for free? |

I bought the camera off Ebay (of course it's like wallmart on the internet) for $135.00, I already had the retractable screen with a camera mounted in the grill. When I replaced the grill with the chrome one the light reflecting off the grill washed out the camera. The dealership is working with me to get the nose repainted this winter when the car goes up for a couple of other interesting modifications that I have planned this winter. ( don't want to spoil the surprise or just in case it doesn't work out) |
