Anyone price a replacement convertible top lately? I heard of a shop down in Winter park that was asking $1,400. Does that sound about right?

moparpartpart.com is showing 2406.25 with the discount.
seems like one of the vendors was quoting around 1700.

This was the complete assembly.

I was curious, so I asked my upholsterer how much would a newe top cost. He looked it up for the companies that suppy the tops to the auto manufactures. ie chrysler, gm. the price was about 850.00. I was talking to a prowler member the other day and he bought a replacement Mulholland top for 650.00. I cannot remember the name of the company he ordered it through. If anyone needs this information I will ask him. Steve

Steve,
Would you mind asking him when you get a chance?

I wouldn't mind having a spare top lying around.

Thanks!

CabrioWorld makes them for the Prowler. Here's the link to their website. You can also get different colors. Tami

Thank you Tami!

Do you know of anyone that's ever used them?

The price doesn't sound too bad I was just wondering about the quality.

Thanks and have a good day!

Brian: Sorry - I know of no one that has used them. I've kept that info for quite some time now because I thought that at some point I may change the color of the top. Seems to me that somewhere in their info it says that that one of the styles is the same fabric that came OEM. I know that they make tops for several car companies. I'll do a check on the web and see if any negative stuff comes up on them. T

When I had the top put on the Dart I ask about the prowler top. I didn't get a quote for the cost but they showed in the book the top for Prowler.

I'm sure you can get an aftermarket top in your color of choice that will be as good as factory.

The Orange with tan top car at the Village event, that is, or was, owned by Paul has the Tan Top that was made, is actually nicer than factory. It has a drip rail like on some of the more expensive cars, fit and finish is great.

Before getting a top from the factory or trying to buy a used top I would check out the trim shops in your area.

Brian: In checking the web the only complaints I found for CabrioWorld was that their instructions were difficult. Most people used an installer (trim shop) to put the top on and were very pleased. Hope that helps. T

I could have the part numbers wrong but I believe the following is accurate.

Top, Folding, Complete, Manual QF42 FX9AI
List 3225.00, discounted price 2406.05.

Cover Kit, Vehicle - Cloth 4897 882AA
List 1900.00, discounted price 1425.00.

I just looked up the receipt for the complete top assembly
that I had put on under warranty. QF421X9-AN TOP FOLDI List $ 2170.00 discounted price $1625.00

Mine is the dark top, maybe the above numebr is for the Mulholland top.

I just paid a local dealership around $1200 for the fabric only. I dropped the car off this morning to have it installed and now they say they can't do it (something about needing some tools that they do not have).

So...does anybody have any recommondations for a trim shop or dealership in Houston that can install the fabric over the existing frame?

Might wanna call on Don Ward. A search for his name might result in a phone #. I don't have that handy. If you find it, pm it to me please. I need to call him too.
