I took out seperate policy because muy insurance company said my car insurance would not cover it in certain circumstances - like when it was sitting in a hotel parkling lot. Insurance with State Farm was $18 for 6 month policy.

Like Marty stated...it is so cheap you might as well insure it.

I think mine is $25 dollars a year. Most auto policies only cover a trailer when it's attached to the insured vehicle. If you have the trailer sitting at home or a motel parking lot it most likely not be covered.

I pay $30 through State Farm. When my trailer and a deer crossed paths back in October the trailer insurance took care of the damage. The trailer also has no deductible, so it didn't cost anything to get it repaired.
