Thinking about purchasing a Bend Pak SP-7X scissor lift. Just wondering if any Prowler owner has purchased one. It's a full rise (72"), no crossmember allowing plenty of underneath room and somewhat portable as it does not require bolting to the floor. What I don't know is if the Prowler will fit on it and over it ( 5" rise) when lowered. Any input appreciated. Louis Oursler |

I have two of the Double-Park lifts from Cytech and neither are "bolted to the floor" and are considered fully "portable" as well. There are even caster kits that allow you to roll the thing around with the car on it too. All depends on what you want to use the device for ... and your budget. Good luck with your selection ... |

Are you sure you'd rather have a scissor lift vs. a four post lift? Bend-Pak makes an awesome 4 post lift for around 2K that is of excellent quality an one of the most inexpensive ones available. I've got one and really like it. Wonder why I didn't get it years ago. The scissor lifts are OK for service, but you can't park anything under your car with one of those. A four post lift gives you parking for two cars. Something to consider.... |

Four post lift is the way to go if you have the room for it. |

I'm also looking at purchasing a 4 post lift, after I finish raising the back section of my garage. I'm looking at the Pro Park 7 from Greg Smith Equipment sales in Indianapolis. Has anyone purchase this lift or is anyone close by that could check it out? The price is $1,795.00 & comes w/ some extra items including 3 trays, casters, & a oil change can. the web site has a video. www.gregsmithequipment.com Thanks, Matt Murphy |

...often times you do get what you pay for ... and if you are stacking cars ... hate to be penny wise but pound foolish. Not familiar with those, but you are more than welcome to come see my Cytek Double-Park lifts. Industrial built for commercial applicaitons but "residential friendly". |

Ive been shopping for lifts lately and the local garage guy recommended Mohwak lifts. here is their link, they have some nice 2 post lifts and 2 post asymetrical lifts for small garage and light use. The also make scissor lifts, etc and they make lifts for up to 70,000 lbs+. http://www.mohawklifts.com/ goodluck paul b This message has been edited by Paul B on 10-25-2006 at 09:38 PM |

Hello Ray, I have been trying to find a 4 post lift. I cannot find any information on Cytech, or any phone number for them. It appears they have gone out of business. Would you possibly have any information? Thanks |

I've ben doing a lot of research on the 4 post lifts. Talked to at least 8 different brokers (seems a lot are selling a Chinese lift). Yesterday I ordered the Bend-Pak 9ST (9000 pound rating) w/ 3 drip pans, 3000 pound cap. axle jack ,additional set of ramps(drive thru) & caster set. Cost w/ freight was $3,560.00. Bend-Pak is made in America, they have been around a long time, & there isn't a 4-6 week wait. I tried reaching Double Park but it seems that they are out of business. I checked out & talked to Back Yard Buddy & he seemed to have a good Product, thou his sales pitch seemed to degrade all the other lifts rather than tell about his lift. Cost for his lift w/ the options & shipping was about $5,000.00 (for a 7000 pound lift & a 5 week wait). I'm in the process of raising the back section of my garage so I hope to post so pictures in a couple weeks. Matt Murphy |

Auto Butler Lifts are the same as Backyard Buddys but at almost half the price and they give you the drip pans with your internet order. |
