Hi guys, it has finally been confirmed (after loads of money spent) that i need a new gearbox

The solenoid pack didnt work nor did the sensor trick. Chrysler adviced that its best.

so who has a cheap and good Auto Gearbox on offer/ brand new one considered. May I add that im real broke at the moment.

Isn't this almost the same as a Chrsler 300M tranny? Do they have these or similar in the UK?

Thats a good point...we definately dont have those in the UK (300M)

Can someone definately confirm if a 300M Tranny will fit a Plymouth Prowler???

The torque converter is different in the 300M. Saw a complete tranny and converter advertised on POA in the last year. Try the search feature. Believe they were asking $4,500. Do a search of salvage yards on the net. Good luck.

Tranny is a 42LE version,,,,,used in several DC vehicles.


"DC 42LE trannys, like those used in the Prowler, have a internal solenoid pack in the tranny, but it is rare for them to have failure problem."

Guess we could call that "good news"
