Be careful with carfax. I know of a person who had their BMW rear ended $ 26,000.00 worth and it did not show up on carfax when they ran it 6 months after the repair. The car is now for sale with a clean carfax report they are showing to buyers ???????

Carfax seems to be flawed, though it is better than nothing.

Looked up a '95 Geo Tracker I'd sold back in '99 shortly after I'd traded it. Showed that the milage was "suspect" as it was 25,000. I bought the car new & milage was precise.

Called Carfax & asked if they would take my confirmation as original owner. They're response was

So if they didn't care, I let it slide...
