We are staying in a flea bag in Binghampton, NY. They have a computer and it works way faster than mine.
We left Halicat and his lovely wife Nikki, and got to the ferry to check it out last night about 8:30. We were supposed to get on the high speed ferry at 1 PM today. They told me no way would it clear the threshold of the ramp. Despair.
Then they had a guy from the ferry come take a look. He said he could get us on, no problem. Great, we are happy. They said in the daytime it is so crowded they would not have time to fool with us. So we could leave at 9:30 or just after we got there. Great.
Went in to get the tickets and found out it was $ 246 one way and it was back to despair (and Bar Harbor.) The ferry has 4 9500 HP engines and goes 58 MPH loaded with 300 or 400 cars. Impressive rooster tail behind that thing.
We landed at 11 PM Eastern. Had 12 miles of gas remaining on the mirror. First two stations were closed and not credit card friendly. The third was closed but the pumps still operated with a credit card so we were on our way.
Met Brian, Too Hip cat at 3 PM.
More to follow after we get home Sunday night.
Thanks again to Halicat and his family for the hospitality. You meet the nicest people driving a Prowler. He said mine was the nicest one he had ever seen, not counting his. Oh wait a minute, he said it was the ONLY one he had ever seen other than his.
Thanks to Brian for all the last minute schedule changes. He went way beyond the call of duty to meet us and buy us lunch. Great people, all of them.

Brian bought lunch!!! I would have taken the day off from work and driven up to NH for that. I bet thats why he didn't let me know when you were passing through. Brian is about an hours ride north of me.
