I'm close to purchasing a Prowler and might have to keep it parked outside, perhaps for some time. I'm curious, is there others here that have no garage and must park their Prowler outside? I have a garage, but another vehicle takes up the room (for now). Any thoughts or concerns about the vulnerability of this car kept outside all the time. Also, for you car cover users, do you feel it really has helped keep your Prowler in better shape than no cover at all? Sorry for so many questions! Thanks in advance! The prowler is as capable for outside outdoor parking as any other car. In fact, being predominantly aluminum and plastic, it's even better suited. There are people that drive prowlers as daily-drivers regardless of weather. If you go the car cover route and are fanatical about the finish (and want to keep it swirl-free) make sure that you test the cover. There have been reports of otherwise fine covers creating swirls/scratches by using improper thread. You can do the CD test on the cover before you buy it (rub the material, seams and corners on one of those free AOL CDs and make sure it doesn't mar it - since CDs are softer than your clearcoat, passing this test has a built-in safety factor). hey Frank, I have stored my Cat in a 11 ft x 16 ft plastic garage over the winter. I purchased it at Home Depot for $300. I also use a car cover to keep the condensation drips off the vehicle while in the garage... its not that pretty but does the job... its a great place to do work on it in the winter heres a picture...

Hali Kat I think you need a prowler snow mobile by those pictures?  I keep my prowler outside and I'm using a car cover all the time and have hadno problems. The base of the wheels don't get covered though and you can get wheel covers the RV's use to cover thiers. I hate not having the garage anymore but had to make room for a family member. Good Luck |

I lived in an apartment for a few months after getting my Prowler. The parking garage was covered, but open on the sides. I kept it covered just to keep the dust off of it, and keep all but the most curious from pawing it... I started that after getting a 'wash me' note scribbled in the dust... |

Mine lives outside on the street 90% of the time, never had a problem with it. Only thing is while yellow is the absolute best color, it gets dirty real fast so buy a silver or red or anything other then yellow, mine looks like it has some strange sickness every morning. |

If you park it outside, the paint will fade over time. I would rotate the direction you park it to try to keep it even. A cover helps unless it is windy. The covers can rub the paint right off of it. Make sure the cover is very tight if it is windy and maybe tie the mirror pockets securely. The edges are where the paint really wears. Different colors fade faster than others. Red fades fast. |

Use smaller size potato chip bag closing clips to hold the cover on the front edge of the front fenders and under the edge of panel beneath each tail light. Holds the cover on during windy days. If you have cats in the area,,,,use RV cloth wheel cover protectors to protect against spray. Also,,,,place a old bed sheet over your soft top to prevent cats from setting their claws through the car cover and into your top material. |

When I first bought my Kat I was renting an apt and had no garage...I rented a unit(like a small garage) at a storage facility for about a year and covered it up everynight. Now in a house and have my own garage..I dont cover the car unless I go away for the week. Also many kats leak in the rain....only a little bit. Jesse |
