I'm close to closing a deal on a 1997 complete with a Chrysler 1 year warranty plus included. It's the dealers own car with 8500 miles on it. We agreed on $29,900. Always garaged and in great shape. He's going to drive it to me himself for delivery at no charge. They're about 300 miles from here. I was looking for a later model but finally went with this. I'm aware of the differences between years. Is there any real advantage to finding and purchasing a later year? Thanks in advance! Frank |

Hi Frank... welcome.. before you make the deal final research the differences between the years.... some info can be obtained from the home page under the heading "Prowler Story"....In 97 there were only 396 produced for sale.. far less than any other of the production years....could be a collectors item in the future, if not today. Improvements were made in the following years.. but other than a few cosmetics, horsepower & suspension, all cats are very much the same , and each one no matter what year is a treasure.... I would only suggest you get the lowest mileage you can.... There guys .. how did I handle that ? |

Frank, I purchased a '97 with 10,000 miles a couple months ago for 27K. My son and I flew from Milwaukee, Wi. to Phoenix and drove the car back to Milw. straight thru (1900 miles in 32 hours). Had great fun on the drive back (even had some rain and snow). I've put over 3k miles on it since I got it and have absolutely no regrets. I think your going to be a happy camper. Good luck. |

Congratulations Frank, and welcome to the POA. I made a very similar deal on a '97 (3) years ago, and haven't regretted it for a minute. Yes, the later models have a bit more power, ride a little softer, and have a few more electronic gizmos, but the '97s are every bit as much fun. I can tell you that at the Tail of the Dragon run in the Smokies a couple of years ago, none of the newer cars were faster than mine. The year doesn't matter. They all produce unending smiles. Enjoy your new ride. ------------------ |

The price sounds a little strong to me,I saw same year Kat listed localy appro.two weeks ago 27,500.00 OBO.But being happy is what is important so enjoy and the extra warranty you are getting is worth something extra. |
