Would like to know what costs you've incurred for your prized possession being in a car accident? Would like to know:

1) type of damage done
2) your fault or someone else's
3) you got bumpers or not
4) Cost to repair

Thanks,
Randy

I can only guess that the Moddersville Public Education System didn't offer Driver's Training classes when you were learning?

Just joking with ya Jerry

Fortunately, neither one of my cats has been in an accident. My trailers, however, are a different story!

02 no bumpers. Got cut off, spun out over center curb, got speared by a sign. My fault for "failure to retain control of the vehicle". 3 bent wheels, destroyed right dragon panel, bent supercharger manifold pipe. Looks like it's gonna be about $7K before I get it back.

Golf cart cracked my rear pass. side fender. HIT AND RUN My labor with input from Bob at Real Rod, stone guard from Jeff Hunter at Rick Hendrick Jeep and great body work from Jeff Burton at Autoworks International just under 500.00 spent. Its great to drive the car again if it would quit raining on the weekends... onecatnodog

Results so far are very enlightening please keep them coming. But so far it looks as if:

A) Bumpers make ZERO difference or perhaps ADD to the cost of repairs, and

B) If you get an accident it will be costly, so might as well max out on your deductible - have a $1,000 one in place.

I also assume:
C) Most Prowler drivers are EXTRA careful when driving their cars so accidents are less likely to happen in them, and perhaps why these probably $10K / average claims (I know we haven't heard the total stories that are out there) don't kill us on our insurance.

Got caught by a hubcap coming off a car on the Brooklyn Queens expressway. Couldn't dodge it as I saw it coming towards me in traffic. It caught the passenger door, rear stone guard and rear quarter. They wrote up the estimate for $1200 including the guard replacement. Didn't have to paint the door as it buffed out. He had to shoot the car three times to get the yellow to match. He took off the rear quarter to paint it.I had 500 deduct that I didn't pay and it cost me $200 out of pocket to paint the bumpers to match at the same time..

No accident but I have had the following.

Prowler bra got wet and not from rain. Its a long story. It fogged the paint on our hood. It Cost $400 to have it repainted.

Someone dumped a load of siding all over the road stretched across four lanes. No avoiding it. Everything on the car got scratched except the hood and trunk. I never did see the estimate but I an sure it cost several thousand. The completely disassembled and painted the entire car except the deck lid as it had a mural on it. However they did apply a new coats of clear to the deck. Beside our $500 deductible , we paid an extra $800 for custom flames.

My trailer bra got damaged from chunk of 18 wheeler tire in the road. Had to pay $150 to get the bra repaired. It also cracked the trailer fender. I have never had that repaired as the bra hides it.
