I have wanted one for ages.. I finally got one. I've been reading this site for a long time but didn't create an account till tonight. I got my car and I wanted to show everyone.. I'm a very happy guy.

More pictures here: http://www.piedmonthosting.com/inthered/

I bought it from a dealer in South Carolina. I'm in Charlotte, North Carolina. He bought the car from someone in Virginia. Apparently the car was shown.. it has Street Glow LED strobe lighting and red neon all over it. It looks normal till you flip it on then is looks like a rolling nightclub inside and outside the car.

It has a Borla exhaust with carbon fiber tips, K&M air filter, chrome grill, chrome cover on the transmission cooler on the back with the cat logo, and cat logo valve stem covers. It has some big monster battery in it that has a read out of the volts on the battery. All sort of controls in the glovebox to control the lights, and a PA system with a microphone. It plays sounds like an ice cream truck, sirens, animals, all sorts of buttons I haven't pushed them all yet.

The car is a 2000, it has 11k miles on it and I paid $34k for it.

I would like to thank everyone for posting here. It has been a great resource for me when I wanted to learn more about these cars. I have been to this site many times just to search through old messages and read your conversations. I love this site!

Thanks!

Welcome to the club. I purchased my Prowler in Jan. this year in FL and drove it back to VA and came thru your city on the way back.
You have a great looking car with some nice mods and I bet it really glows at night with the neon on, got any night pictures?
If you can make the Carlisle PA Chrysler show it is only about a 5 or 6 hour drive up 81 from you that would be a great weekend.
I can offer you my weekend house in Smith Mountain Lake which is just outside of Roanoke VA for a night rest stop,it is about 2 1/2 hours from Charlotte and about 4+ hours from Carlisle PA. New house on the golf course with a garage to keep the Kat in.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I lived in Canada for about a year and had a friend with a then new yellow 2000. I drove his car as much as he did. Whenever he went out of town he threw me the keys. He kept saying that somebody should drive it while he was gone. I loved his way of thinking.

I fell in love with that yellow 2000 and in the back of my mind I kept thinking I would get one someday.. the last two years I have been shopping. Sometimes I'm seriously looking and other times I was window shopping. I think my wife got sick of me window shopping online and finally encouraged me. That was all it took! haha..

I had forgotten how much attention the Prowler really gets. The last two days have been an adventure.

Thanks SILVRKAT!

I don't have any pictures of the car at night. I'll try to get some shots over the weekend and post them. When is the event in PA?

I was wondering if anyone here was located near Charlotte. I have only seen one black Prowler around here. I'm going to have to search through the messages and see what color Randy's car is. That might have been him..

AC - asking questions probably not a bad idea.. I do have a few that you guys might be able to help with. My car does have a couple of problems that I have noticed. I talked to the dealer last night and he said to have the problems fixed and send him the bill. I'm wondering if the problems are a big deal or not..

Passengers side window seems like its sliding off the rails when it goes up. It goes down fine. When it goes up it gets crooked. I was wondering if this is a common problem.

The controls for the stereo on the steering wheel don't work. I'm either not doing something right or they just don't work. The car has had a bunch of lighting installed on it so a wire might have come loose someplace and effected the stereo controls. Anyone else ever had a problem like this?

Those are all the problems I can find with the car. Everything else seems perfect.

Welcome, I think you will feel at home very soon. I don't have any experience with those problems but that is a nice offer from your dealer. This would be a good time to find quality Prowler service on non critical issues.

Red - sounds like a window regulator problem - common problem.

I remember others having a issue with the audio controls on the steering wheel,,,,I'm sure somebody will chine in this weekend on that problem.

Sounds like a window regulator going out. And the radio controls won't work when the clock spring is bad.

It is in the steering column behind the air-bag. It controls a lot of the electronic controls in the steering wheel. Please take it to a Chrysler dealer. He can change it with-out setting off the air-bag.

A trip to the dealer is in the cars future. Thanks for the information. I can't see me doing any work on the car. Its so new to me I'm not confident enough to pick up a tool and get near it. I'm not the most mechanically inclined person to begin with. Somethings I'm good at.. thats not one of them.

Well is was finally a sunny day in Charlotte. I washed the car, grabbed the wife and took a drive to a local mountain.
Got lots of questions, yells, and waves while I was out today. I had forgotten just how much attention the car gets. I remember lots of attention when driving my friends car.. but apparently Vancouver Canada attention and small town North Carolina attention are two very different things. I'm exhausted. It was fun but more work than I remember. I hope I get use to it..
