Went to my usual Pub yesterday, to show off with the Kat for the first time, none of my friends did seen it yet. after 5 minutes there was more people around the car than inside the pub. A girl even asked me to use it for photo shoot with a model (see also topic on technical question... ), fater the photo shoot 15 italian guy posed and they all took pict one after the other. it was my frist drive in town and was a bit stress, luckily the kat was park on front of the pub window and could keep an eye on it. I was just wandering, WHO usualy leave the kat park on his own, or people just drive from A to B and always stay around the Kat when ot park in a safe garage. |

I dont park the car in public in less I can keep an eye on her. I dont think I have parked on a street yet. But when I use a parking lot I make sure to take up a couple spaces and/or an end space. I am always waiting to walk out of a store to see a mother possing her kids on the front fenders for a picture. |

Jimmy, Hi, its UK_Prowler, Mike in Bristol, here. I only drive mine to the pub in summer & then sit outside where I can keep an eye on it. Whilst I don't really think that anyone would try to steal it, my major concerns are vandalism. Glad you are enjoying the attention the uniqueness that a Prowler brings. We must try to arrange to meet up over the summer. Regards mike |

I try to stick to parking lots, rather than the street....and yes, it always draws a crowd. One time, I was at a cd/video retail store. I parked way out in the parking lot in 4 spaces and when we came out to go back to the car, someone else had parked their Prowler right next to mine! Never did see the owner of the other cat, but left POA info! |

I try to avoid parking on the street and usually stick to parking lots. In the rare instance where I have parked on the street, it has been where I could watch the kat. |

Jimmy, I try to never park it out of plain sight. CJ had mentioned that she parks hers a good distance away from everyone. People usually try and park in the spaces closest to the establishment that they are visiting. It seems as if the further away you park the better off you are. Just remember that the cat should still remain in plain view. For my own piece of mind I am going to install a "Lojack" device in my cat. I have researched this theft recovery system and found that it operates off a radio frequency which works better that any GPS system out there. If the cat is ever stolen and placed in even an enclosed container to be shipped...the GPS system would lose its signal where the "Lojack" would NOT seeing as how it works on a radio frequency and NOT a satellite. I just have to find the spare $1000.00 to purchase it! I don't know if you can get a "Lojack" in the UK. I bet they have something similar though. I'm sorry...I got way off track. I do imagine that there are so few cats over there in the UK that it would draw that type of attention. You can always use the method that Halicat uses...scare them away by depressing your panic button!!! I just may try that sometime. Good idea Jim! Have a good day everyone! Brian |

i always am within sight of the car when i'm in the city.....or i have someone wait in the car. Parking way out in the parking lot away from everyone else is a must but be prepared to come out and find a cluster parked all around it...and nose prints on your window. Brian.... you gotta use the panic button ! I try to set it off the second they touch it...amazing how they touch it again thinking that it will turn it off.... I had a tour bus unload at a restaurant ,they all went over to the car instead of go inside....that was fine, but later a few came back with ice cream cones and hovered over the car ... i dang near set off the panic button when i realized the were all in their 80's and might blow a gasket from fright..... i finished my lunch and ran out....found 3 drips of vanilla on the front fender...... |

I never park on the street. I restrict all our parking to parking lots. Usually park far out. I don't like to leave it parked for longer than an hour. I would neevr elaved it parked someplace I will obviously be gone for an extended period for example at the movie theater. I too am always most worried about vandals. |

I had to stop into Wal Mart last week and was super paranoid about the shopping carts in the parking lot. I found what I thought would be a safe place on the side of the building and to my surprise there was another black prowler there too! Looks like we all think alike on this subject. On a side note...the other car was stock and it sure made me feel good about the subtle mods I did when I saw them side by side. (painted bumpers, chrome shimmers, mini-rear roll pan, chrome headrests and chrome Deck Pro Tek). I never saw the other owner and when I came back out just a few minutes later he/she was already gone. |

I installed Low Jack, and a second alarm system that is very sensitive. I try to be carefull were I park, but sometimes I have no other choice. Try and watch it when possible but it is insured as well. One day if a parking lot, I was ordering lunch and heard the alarm go off. Ran outside and saw a 80 year old man hit the front bumper and tried to keep going. He didn't even know he hit it. Skinned the bumper some. Thanks to POA I found a just but like new bumper and got him to pay for the parts. |

I would rather park on the street than a lot. In a lot, there are usually going to be cars parked on both sides and if they leave and new cars come in to park, you have four shots at getting your doors dinged. If you park on the street, no one parks next to you. Sometimes there is no street parking and you have to park in a lot. I try to get an end spot. It's insured, I have more important things to worry about. (going bald, getting old, missing a POA event, etc). Life is too short to worry that much about a car. Now, Step away from the car, please. lol |

If I'm going to a Bar-Pub I don't take it. I have had 4 cars vandalized in bar, restaurants parking lots. Last time they pulled the grill off my Jaguar S-Type-R. I even had lipstick all down the side of my Prowler this summer in a Golf course parking lot. "Jealousy is a Wicked Thing" I don't care how far away from other cars I park all by myself, on the other end of a parking lot I always come out and there is someone parked right next to me???? ------------------ This message has been edited by CTProwler on 03-08-2005 at 05:30 PM |

I guess that we have the same philosophy as Ed. We bought the car to enjoy it, and we do every day, as a daily driver. We didn't get it just to be stressed and worried about it all the time. I use it for my weekly errands on the days that I have it, and we park it in both parking lots and on the street, if needed. Granted, I don't think that we've ever had it in a truly bad area. I also tend to think that it's safer from door dings in a parking lot than a "regular" car since people, in my opinion, will notice and be more careful around a nicer car...at least I am. To each their own though...whatever makes you the happiest. This message has been edited by Melissa Santory on 03-08-2005 at 03:43 PM |

sama as Ed and Melissa, allready use it and park like a normal car, of course will not go to park at night in a dodgy area. I pay insurance and want to enjoy my kat as much as possible. |

I guess it depends on the way you percveoive your Prowler. Mine is a daily driver and I have always parked it just as I have my previous cars. With over 100,000 miles I have only one parking lot ding in one of the the doors (and it still made me mad!) |
