Finally got some pictures of the beach damage in New Smyrna Beach from the big 3 hurricanes that came through. Even though Ivan was just a depression as it came around and went back out to the gulf, it really did do a lot of damage removing 3-4 feet of sand just days before Jeanne came by and finished the job.

Those of you coming to the Turkey Rod Run and staying in NSB, this is what the beach will look like. As I write this the wind is gusting off the ocean at 25-35 mph and were sure to have more erosion today and tomorrow as predicted.

You can go to the web site I just put up at:
www.foxedtech.com/hurricane/index.htm

Click on photo gallery and then on the first thumbnail and then you can use the arrows at the top of the page to scroll through them.

Enjoy,

Wally

Wally - I have stayed in condos on New Symrna Beach over 15 times. I stayed in Chateau By The Sea (in one of the photos) twice. It USED to be a beautiful beach.

Any damage to J&B Fish Campon the other side of the street from the beach?

No they were OK. Just higher than normal tides in the lagoon that may have caused some flooding problems, but no major damage that I can recall knowing that the lagoon at high tide is at the top of the docks out back. Chateau is a nice place, they have to replace the entire seawall and had a little roof damage that was quickly fixed. Still waiting for the contractor to start the seawall. The ramp you saw in the pictures is right next to Chateau and in the corner of the ramp closest to the seawall is a 20 foot drop now.
