Anybody know anything about this item on ebay? Sounds like a scam:

The ONLY electric supercharger worth anything would be from Thomas (Geoff) Knight at www.boosthead.com It starts as an Eaton Supercharger and requires a bank of several 12 volt batteries and provides power like nitrous in short 15 second bursts.

The cost is $1195 (sale $995) plus sefveral hundred dollars worth of batteries and requires a 200 amp alternator. He has two models a 400 series, a 550 and a larger 750 third one coming out soon for larger displacement engines. These are mainly designed for 4 and smaller 6 cylinder engines.

Maybe when he gets the 750 ready and battery technology improves slightly, I'll think about it again.

The other stuff is mainly junk like converted bilge pumps. None of the others can produce any serious PSI.

Marty,
I checked out that website. It sounds feasible. Maybe someone will try it and let us know.

If I had a stock engine, I just might look closely at this as a power adder.
