We went to a local car show on Saturday, a variety of cars were there and we won the "Best of Street Rods" class:

Best of Show:

Although we were told we came in second in the voting for "Best of Show", it was hard to compete with this paint job and interior. Great looking in person. Even I considered voting for this car.

This was painted on, not vinyl graphics

The interior was very nice and also had a great sound system, in the trunk. . . the entire car was very clean and tasteful.

Congrats.......you'd have to be a real big Spiderman fan to do that to your car.

Pumpkin,

A few questions:

1. Do stock kats ever win any trophies? How about first place?

2. If stock kats rarely win trophies, what does it take to win one (add-ons, paint, etc.)?

3. Where do you find local car shows? I assume that there are several each month in Southern California, but I just don't know where to look.

Thanks,

Orange

Our first few shows with the Cat stock, we took a top 35 throphy at one meet and 1st in class at the SE Mopar meet. Many shows have different classes such as stock, mild modified, extreme modified. It varies by show. I like modifying our cat because there is not another one like it.

I'm really not into car shows as far as sitting there all day with my cat on display. I'm not into trophies.......I know my cats are winners. A group of Michigan owners got together and cruised to a car show one night and dinner. When we came out from dinner, I discovered that they had chosen my cat as a winner! It was nice. It was my candy with the mods.......louvered side panels, painted bumpers, chrome grille and hardtop.

We are very fortunate, here in Michigan, to have a printed periodical called "Cruis'news". It lists all car events going on in Michigan for the entire cruise season (monthly). There are cruise-in sites every night of the week. For Monday nights, there are 16 listed. For Tuesdays, there are 25 listed.......and so on. There is no lack of places to cruise and hang out. I just found out (in talking to them at their booth on Woodward) that I could have had the Prowler Dream Cruise Event listed in their publication............. Guess I will have to do that for next year!!!

Check it out here........ Cruisnews

Orange, The only time I have won trophies was when I was against other Prowlers and I am sure you know my cat is totally stock. lol. I rarely go to shows where there are trophies.
Actually I just remembered I won a trophy last Oct. We went to a cruise-in that was cancelled so we went to a diff. car show. We got there just as they closed the registration but they told us to go ahead and register and I wound up winning a trophy and did not know my registration number. Kind of funny at the time.

Norm & Pat-

Congrats!

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but in my opinion your Kat is far superior to the overdone spider car.

That's great congrats!!!!

At least they will let you enter your prowler in the Street Rod class. Several people here in Dallas have tried that, and were told no that it was reserved for older cars, and the prowler was too new.... I don't get it... Maybe they are just scared the prowler might beat the older cars.

1. Do stock kats ever win any trophies? How about first place?

We won when the kat was stock. The Prowler will win both ways. Even with the mods I am usually the only one that knows the changes, just go out and have a ball.

2. If stock kats rarely win trophies, what does it take to win one (add-ons, paint, etc.)?

Just enter, winning a trophy is not what we enter for. We may not please the judges all the time but the crowd knows who is best.

3. Where do you find local car shows? I assume that there are several each month in Southern California, but I just don't know where to look.

Listen to the radio, the stations the young adults listen to. Visit car dealerships, they have shows. Go to drive-ins and ask around, The best is to go to audio stores for cars, and graphic shops, they will usually know the shows coming up. Go cruising, that is a car show in itself. Our radio stations web sites will tell of up coming shows.

Pumpkin,

Thanks for the advice. Someone needs to come up with a website that lists shows nationally.

Orange - there is a newspaper rag, RODDIN' & RACIN', that comes out monthly listing the local car shows and drag racing events in the So-Cal, Arizona, and Nevada areas. Sometimes you can find it available at auto parts stores for free.
Email: Roddinracin@cs.com to see if you can get a copy or ask where in your area you can pick one up.
