Hello Folks! I am new to this site. Wanted to let you know that I dropped my Red '99 Prowler off at a dealer to have a trailer hitch installed. Should I be concerned? I read some of your experiences...and I hope I have better luck than some of you. They've assured me that they have a qualified Prowler mechanic that will do the installation. There are only 2K miles on the car with no scratches...kinda like to have it back in the same condition. This is going to be LONG day! I'll let you know how it comes out. Pat

Pat - 1st, welcome to POA. The hitch installation is a pretty straightforward procedure. Your dealer's tech should be able to handle it fine.

Be sure to check periodically at the events sections of the webpage. There is a fairly active group of Owners in the Ohio escpecially around Cincinnati that get together often.

I'll let Alley Cat warn you about Ed.

Pat - WELCOME TO THE POA! Install shouldn't be much of a problem. When taking your cat in for service,,,,just be sure to tell the service writer that you are anal and expect the cat to be returned in the same condition as brought in to them for service. I see you live in Ohio. Be sure to ask Ed in Cincy if you have any Prowler questions other than adding mods to your cat. Ed goes totally stock and still drives with the window sticker on the glass

ORDERED THE WEEKENDER SO, I'VE GOT TO MAKE A DECISION. BY THE WAY THIS IS MY SECOND POSTING, RELATIVELY NEW TO THE POA AND THE COMPUTER.
LET ME KNOW HOW YOU MADE OUT.

Tom - WELCOME TO THE POA!!!

Glad you jumped in on this thread,,,,two newbies, good deal.

If you have the printed installation directions, have the spare time, a sharp hole saw, good, sharp drill bits, some patience, a level, an extra pair of hands, and a 12-pack of beer,,,,its not that bad of a job, but does involve some work.

Both of you guys,,,,,feel free to ask questions or add your input to any ongoing DISCUSSION FORUM topic.

Pat, welcome to the POA. I live in the NW portion of Cincy. We have about 15 active members here. We get together in the winter about every 6 weeks and try to make some cruise-ins during the warmer months. We are in the REDS Opening Day Parade, The Harvest Home Parade and Montgomery, OH 4th of July parade usually.
Let me know if you want to be inclded. I put my own hitch on the car using a can opener, a hatchet, a hammer and a bent screw driver. Looks okay. It is pretty simple, actually.
What color cat?

Don't pay any attention to AC. You can start a thread of your own too if you like.

Trailer Hitch Installation Update!! It appears the dealer did a good job installing the hitch....couldn't find any scratches. I attached the trailer last evening...all worked well...even the lights! Can't wait to take it a spin with the trailer in tow. The Prowler technician had only installed one hitch prior, but he was very confident that he wouldn't have any problems.

Ed, thanks for the invitation...sound great! The Prowler is Red. Pat
