Hello Prowler Enthusiasts! I am planning on surprising my wife with a Prowler as an anniversary gift in about 6 months. I have a few concerns and I am wondering if I may ask a few questions. 1) Living in Canada, my investigating has left me assuming my best bet in finding a mint shape Prowler is in the US. I am quite alright with having it shipped up here. My question is what should I be looking at paying for the car ( $30 - 40K ) is what I have been seeing. 2) The one concern I have is the visibility factor out of the small windshield. Comments? 3) Maintenance - more expensive then average car and are there any common issues with them that I should be aware of? I am sure I will have more question soon, but those are the ones I can think of right now. I truly appreciate your feedback. Thanks, |

Mike........can't think of a better anniversary gift. My husband gave me my 99 Black for our 32nd anniversary and the 02 Candy Red for our 35th anniversary. With regard to the cost of Prowler. It will depend on if it is new or used.......mileage and condition and location (shipping). Prices have been all over the board, ranging from mid 20's to mid 40's. I am 5' tall and I have no visibility problems. I really can't see any of the wheels/fenders, but you get a feel for the car and where it is on the road. I don't know if that is because I am shorter, or if everyone else has the same issue. Doesn't cause me any problems, though. Everyone has had different issues with their cats. I can honestly say that I've not had anything major with either one of mine. Maintenance for these cars is no different than any other car that is new and has a warranty. ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

Mike, welcome to the POA. You found the right place. $ 30,000 to $ 40,000 U.S. should find you a very nice, low mileage Prowler. (Prices will be going down soon due to the season, Probably.) There are some nice cars on the free classified ads now, here on the POA. 2. Small windshield is of no concern. With the top down you can see everything. Everyone is looking at you, also. With the top on or up, I have trouble seeing the traffic lights, stuff to the side since I am tall and the roof line interferes with my sightline, and to the rear due to the small rear window. (Looking up is pretty useless, too, come to think of it.) That covers all directions except down so unless you dropped your wallet, I covered all of them). 3. I don't think maintenance is any worse than any other car, cost wise. There are a few owners that have nightmare stories but no one posts when they are not having problems. Why would I post that nothing broke today, or yesterday, etc. If you do the routine maintenance you will probably not notice any exorbitant bills. Parts on the other hand, are outrageous. All of that said, I highly recommend the car. The positives outweigh the negatives about 1000 to one. Opinions on all my answers may vary from owner to owner. Pick the answers you like best and use them as leverage to buy a Prowler. FUN car. ------------------ |

Hi Again, May I also ask what in your opinions is too many miles to invest in. Obviously how it was driven is of course a factor but just curious. Thanks, |

hey Mike: i'm in vancouver, i've looked into getting a car from the US also, but you can find a car in canada if you are patient, i bought my car just over a month ago, & there are some next to new ones in the lower mainland for sale, prices range from hi 40s to mid 60s, cars in miles are always less desirable in canada when it comes to resale time, it's tough to get the feel of the car by pictures & it's a rare occasion to see one in person,i'd be more than happy to let you look at mine if you are ever in vancouver. |

Another consideration if you are certain and ready to purchase, if you found one, say, 2 months from now, as winter sets in, and prices MAY begin dropping, you may be able to work a deal to have it left where it is, or have a local owner (to the seller) pick it up and hold it til anniversary time (garage space permitting). If you need a delivery driver, email me when that time comes. It could save you some on shipping it to you. |

By new, I mean all unsold/untitled Prowlers on dealer lots. I don't have a list for Canada, but do have one for the U.S. |
