At certain hot rod/car shows that requires car participants as "certain year or older", can our Prowler be entered as a
1933 Ford Speedstar REPLICA?. Obviously, the cat is a limited-production late model vehicle. Has anybody tried to enter their cat in such shows? Has anybody argued it's qualifying merits to be accepted for these hot rod shows?
In my opinion, George Maxey's and Marty Usher's ultra-beauties (& others inc JD's, CNote's, Norb's) sure can qualify.

While reading "Prowler story", Tom Gale, Prowler's brain trust & then executive VP/director of styling for all of Chrysler was inspired by his own Chrysler-powered '33 highboy. With the 1933 Ford in mind, Gale & the design team built the cats as "contemporary with modern surfaces, materials, engineering and the techniques of innovative manufacturing." http://www.prowleronline.com/story.php

Hey MXK, JD, ObiWan, have you attended the highly popular & twice-a-month, Danville Hot Summer Nights cruises?
It's suppose to be 1960 or older cars.

T think that would be a stretch and difficult to convince.

A Prowler is not a 33 anything' and does not belong in a class like that since it sure would not be fair to either car to be put in same class.streetrods in most shows are concerered to be 1948 and older. Most good shows have classes for everthing out there.I have seen late model Corvettes-mustangs-Prowlers show together if not enought cars to make a class. There is also modified classes for these car.I agree George Maxey's car is the best looking Prowler I have ever seen but it is not a 33 streetrod and I think he would agree and prefer not to show against cars out of his class.Just my thoughs.

I agree with Gene. A Prowler is a limited production original. I wouldn't enter it if I had to call it a replica or kit anything.

Great insights from the respondents above. Thanx. I just had this thought that the cat may be able get in just to crash the "old timer's party". We had a recent car show here that requires 1955 and older cars. In turn, a friend persisted the thought that the Prowler should be able to attend the "big dance" under the guise of it's "1930's roots". Of course, my intention would be not to go after the prize. That would be unfair to the cat's grandfathers that are technologically impaired. At the same token, OUR Prowler is simply in a class by itself... like a young sophisticated, snazzy & stylin' dude amidst a sea of good-lookin' & dapper old timers.

Anyways, just a thought...

Anybody going to Reno's Hot August Nights next week to check out the sharp "old timers" (60 & older cars)? Too bad cause the young cats will be bystanders. Oh well.

The Prowler went from concept vehicle to a production vehicle....unique unto itself!! It is amazing, however, how many people think it is a kit car.

At the Toronto event this week, three older gentleman were walking the parking lot checking out the cars. They stopped to ask me questions about my Candy and the first question was........"were all of these cars kit cars?". Of course, I had to explain the facts to them; but they were most surprised to find out they were built by Plymouth!

On the way home from Toronto, we crossed into NY at Buffalo. I have never had my picture taken so many times. The upstate NY guys definitely need to get their cars out on the road a LOT more. Lots of nice comments in the gas stations.
