There's a saying here.."Like a fine cabernet sauvignon.. we age to perfection". Indeed, cruisemaster extraordinaire Al Collins and Linda led 19 Prowlers & their wine-powered owners to a WooWoo Wine CruiseTour day. It was certainly a day where the aging process was rewound 30 years back as everybody, especially JD was acting like raging teens with their HOT dates, in their HOT cars... hey why not? As always the plethora of Prowler colors attracted lotsa admirers and thumbs up from the locals. While snaking though the Oakville mountain grade, a lady stopped, propped herself up from her Mercedes convertible and took video of the Prowler parade. My wife and I missed the Suisun breakfast but joined all at the historic Mare Island tour inc. glimpse of the former AmHawaii cruise ship SS Independence & Commandant's mansion. The renowned Napa Valley Wine country graced the Prowler parade with great lo80's weather & the usual tourist traffic. Of course, we had to slow down for the tourists esp. the goo-goo-eyed Europeans to do their digital pix on our entourage. Yup, one motioned us to stop so they could take a quick pic then smiled in appreciation. We then visited the Valley of the Moon winery in Glen Ellen and enjoyed a Fabuloso Festa Italiana celebration. To blend the colorful cats with the festa ambiance, a prime corral was reserved for us. (Oh no, ObiWan Scott got lost... uh, took a sightseeing detour & joined us 1 hour later, tired & hungry Next stop was another grand winery adjacent to Infineon Raceway. We saw JD taking off and we thought he was gonna enter his chromillusioned SnazzySilver to a Drifting Contest at IR. (JD, did U?) Hopefully, dependable Doug will post some event pix. Like this and past cruise events, the next one should great. Life's too short, Life's great... Prowler's the best way, to celebrate.. |
