On Sunday morning, July 25, we have been able to arrange for a complimentary "POA" exclusive tour of RM cars in Chatham Ontario.(www.rmcars.com). RM's faciltiy in Chatham is deeply involved in the restoration of many vehicles which are regularly shown at Concour D'Elegance events around the world. They also coordinate numerous classic car auctions such as Monterey Sports and Classic Car Auction and Vintage Cars at Meadowbrook Hall to name a couple. Check out their website. RM is located 1 hour and 15 minutes east from the Detroit/Windsor tunnel and 2 and 1/2 hours west from the Delta Meadowvale in Mississauga. (Prowlin' Canada Headquarters) If we have Prowlin' Canada participants coming through Detroit, we have corporate rates at the Hilton and Radisson Hotels on Riverside Drive in Windsor, Ontario. (Beautiful views of the Detroit skyline and the Detroit River). We have the tour scheduled for 11:00 AM to allow as many participants as possible the opportunity to view the facility and see the classics on display. We will require confirmation as to the head count for RM by Thursday July 22, to ensure they have adequate staff on hand.If you are interested, please respond by PM preferably, or this thread. It should be a lot of fun. For those coming through Windsor, we will set up a cruise to RM in Chatham on Sunday morning. Maybe some Prowlers coming from Toronto will do the same? Stay tuned. |

I have just confirmed with the local tv station that they will be broadcasting Live from the hotel on July 27 from 7 to 9 A.M. for the Breakfast TV which is a National Braodcast seen from coast to coast. We will have a copy of the tape available for all participants and anyone else interested. This will certainly give us some great exposure and I'm grateful to the producers for accomodating us in their busy schedule. If anyone wants to join us for the day only, they are welcome to as well as we'd like to have as great turnout as possible. See y'all soon! ------------------ |

Registration is from 5 to 7 on Sunday July 25 followed by a buffet dinner from 7 -9. The RM part of the event would fit in perfectly with the registration and for people arriving early. RM has a wonderful collection well worth seeing. Roman glad everything worked out with BT. This message has been edited by Blue Tie on 07-05-2004 at 07:25 PM |

My Trailer went out of sight....Take the tunnel.. It didn't look like they were going to fix it any time soon.. Don.. ------------------ |

Hey CJ! Glad you and Bob are coming to RM on Sunday morning. "Some drive time info for Sunday." From Chrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills to the tunnel on Sunday morning should take between 30 to 40 minutes. Travel through the tunnel should be quick as there is restricted truck traffic, very few commuters and it is too early for the shoppers, so it should only be a few minutes. If we have a number of Cats in the city on Sunday morning , we should plan to cruise out of Windsor at approx. 9:30 AM. As we get closer to the date ,we will set up the cruise start location. See you there. |

^^^ This will be a great tour. RM does some great cars. All those coming to the Canada event should jig their schedule to make this. If you are crossing the border at Niagara (those coming from the east or due south), this is about a two hour drive. If you are coming from Ohio or anywhere south or west of that, you should cross the border at Detroit and it will be "along the way" |

Jim. Karen & I will be touring the RM facility. My Mapquest directions tell me to cross on the Ambassador bridge onto route 3S and onto HWY 401 (toward london). I don't have a clue where that is other than somewhere in or near detroit... We can't leave Mand. until late Friday. So, I'll probably spend the night somewhere between Cinn & Detroit Sat. night. With an early departure Sun to meet up with the group... ------------------ |

Laddie, that is perfect. The 401 is the major highway going from Detroit/Windsor through Toronto and east to Quebec. The event hotel is also along the 401 highway |

Jim, I'm not so sure I want to take my cat through the tunnel. Do you think that is better than taking the bridge? |
Jim Kenney POA Site Supporter Prowler Junkie Personal ScrapBook From:Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada |

CJ, recommend the tunnel, it's quicker than the bridge and it really sounds cool to wind the "Cat" up when you're going through with the top down. It's also closer to take this route if you're coming south on #75. Dependant on the size of our group on Sunday morning, we will likely meet on the riverfront in front of the Windsor Casino. (picture opportunity) The casino is about 4 blocks from the tunnel exit. More details to come. P.S. I confirmed I have that package for you and Bob. |

Okay, we are in for the RM tour. Now if we are coming from the south do we want to go over the Ambassador bridge or the tunnel. If the answer is the tunnel, we need a direction update. Is it south or north of the bridge? About how far? Is Canada on the same time schedule as the rest of the world? lol? 9:30 means I cannot sleep in. |
