I am going to Quincy, Illinois tomorrow (6/22) for a week visit with relatives... I may be going up to Sandusky, Ohio from there on Thursday (6/24) to purchase a truck (estimated drive about 8 hours)... If it gets too late to drive back to Quincy that Thursday night, does anyone operate a 'POA Member Hostel' where I could crash (oops, bad term!) for the night? Thanks! Bob |

If I lived near there, I'd help you, but Rochester Hills is a "far piece" from Sandusky. C'mon......any of you Ohio owners, can you help? |

Bob, My brother lives in Toledo and always has a spare room. PM me if interested and I will pass on contact details. PS I grew up in Toledo. Now you know why I live in San Diego! Guy |

I am now going to pickup the pickup at Toledo Airport about 1-2 pm on Wednesday...then I am going to head up to the Conner Avenue plant to see if I can get into the store for some 'necessities' (I will call Joyce or Sylvia in the am to see if that is possible...) Then I am going to go to the Walter P. Chrysler Museum until closing (6 pm)...and then either start back to Quincy for a 2-3 hour drive and a Motel 6 (then home Thursday) or grab dinner near the museum and find a motel there and then leave bright and early (7 am?) and drive through to Quincy (estimated 8 hour drive)... My cell phone is going to be (217) 257-2077 if anyone wants to rendevous ... |

Bob........if you want to get together for dinner, we live just 15 minutes from the Museum. I can see if I can get some other owners together also. My phone is 248.650.3321. |

Sandusky, Ohio? Isn't that home of Callahan Auto Parts? |

By the way, if you decide to stay for dinner and spend the night, the hotel that I am using as the host hotel for Dream Cruise is a half mile away from the Museum. |

Thanks, CJ... As things worked out... 1. I did not make it to the POA store before they closed (2 pm)...helpful lady on the phone said they were low on Prowler Red merchandise anyway and would be getting more in soon... 2. DID make it to Chrysler museum before IT closed... even got to see the truck that I was going to Sandusky OH to buy (sight unseen...i.e. I had never even seen that kind of truck before the museum and then, 2 hours later, when I bought one!) 3. Met truck owner at Toledo OH airport, bought the truck, and headed to the nearest motel for the night! 4. Bright and early Thursday, headed 'home' (daughters house in Quincy IL) via Auburn IN (National Automotive and Truck Museum) and Indianapolis IN (The Speedway!)...very cool! (Wouldn't let me take the truck around for laps though....said they thought I would go too fast!) Finally home again by 11 pm... Tuesday (June 29) my son and I head west for home via Route 66 (Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California)...should be about 3-4 days....then up Coast Route 1 in California...this should definitely put the 'new' old truck to the test!! |

Bob, you are having almost as much fun as Laddie!! Sounds like a great trip coming up. The museum in Auburn is cool, isn't it? |
