Bob has a friend who owns a shop that specializes in Corvettes and Corvette parts. Long before he got married, all the rooms in his house were lined with shelves with car parts.......his living room furniture was car seats! lol! |

Larry, I went with the same one you got. It would have been fine except for the fact it was 1/2" to short from catching the bolt under the rear fender.. We worked on it for over 2 1/2 hours and would get the left side hooked and the right was 1/2" short. Then we did the oppsite and the left side was 1/2" short.. I finally had to elongate both side holes and PUSH like mad and Debe got the bolts caught.. I used a gluegun to fasten the spacers in place so they would not get knocked off too. Funny after it all was done and you step back and look at it, all that work disappeared... It looks great! Did two other mods also but I'll save them for the Event.. By the way, all paint work was done by Don (KOZICAN) Ward.. Heck of a paint job on mod #2.

Fred - I should have hot glued the shims as you did,,,,I used silicone adhesive, let dry for 24 hrs, and still had 3 or 4 come loose. Finally got them to stay in place with super tape holding them down precisely while popping in the pan. I'm sure DW did a better job than my painter did,,,,I was somewhat disappointed with his work and needing 58 days to paint six parts for me I see Debe got involved in the project,,,,Lethia as well. It helps to have those extra small hands on this projects Pictures when you are done. |
