Hi all, been reading some posts about warranty, and someone mentioned that after nov. 2001 you automatically get 7/70? Is this right? |

If you go to Google and search for "Chrysler 7 year 70000 mile warranty" you'll find several listings from Chrysler dealers, the following being typical: "Special Upgrade Plans to the 7 yr /100,000 mile "Powertrain Pledge" (offered Nov '01 to July '02) Special Upgrade Plans to the 7 yr / 70,000 mile powertrain warranty (Standard warranty on all Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles purchased 7/9/02 or later)" It's clear that the 7/70000 powertrain warranty starts on the in-service date, BUT MAKE SURE THAT YOUR IN-SERVICE DATE IS THE DATE OF YOUR PURCHASE BEFORE YOU DRIVE AWAY - MAKE THE DEALER SHOW IT TO YOU IN THE COMPUTER. There have been several horror stories in here about how the in-service date occurred years before the purchase, even with a "new" prowler from a dealer. Just suggest you cover your bases and know where you stand. -GRROWL |

Jammer- Congrats on your new toy !! But you forgot the IMPORTANT details. COLOR??? Miles??? I just got my "Pretty Kitty" 2 months ago. I've had Porsche, Ferrari, and Delorean, but nothing compares to the smiles, thumbs up, waves, and admiration the Prowler gets. A 10 minute ride to Starbucks will now take an hour... This board is a wonderful place to learn, share, ask questions, and have a little friendly bantering with other OWNERS. Myself, while I may have other toys in the future, I will not EVER give up my Kitty Kat. Has brought me more fun in two months than all the others combined. As far as your warranty, I have no idea, but you are in the right place to ask, and you will no doubt have an answer very soon by one of the other members. Good luck, and have fun ! I also just purchased a new prowler and I check my in service date that they recorded, and also had the dealership write down the 7 year/70000 mile warranty on the invoice. |

Just a note to potential purchasers, definitely check what a Chrysler dealer reports as the in service date. I've found that even if dealers sell to other dealers an dit winds up not being a non-dealer title Chrysler will still place the in-service date at the time of the dealer to dealer exchange. This was the case with two kats I was looking at Still, being a recent purchaser myself, let me just say you're in for an awesome time That said...orange *Plymouths* are still fastest!! Well...except for owners of all those other colors who can afford superchargers... ed <--- go 99 PU Tigers |

Jammer- Just to let you know, it is a proven fact, backed by scientific road studies, that the GOLD is by far the fastest. Others would like to think THEY have the fastest color Kat, but you cant argue with FACT. On the rare occasion a different color has been faster than our Gold, it's 'cause we let them win. You know, to build up confidence just like race horse trainers do... --OR-- They were ORIGINALLY GOLD, and then painted a different color.... But seriously now, and all joking aside, Gold is the fastest !!! ------------------ "Dali" is Dr. Mike & Mrs. "Jo-Jo" S. near Dallas, Tx. Owner of a 2002 Inca Gold named "Picasso". |

quote: In VIOLENT AGREEMENT, but suggest going even one step further. It's not what the dealer puts down on your invoice (and, yes, there was one horror story reported here even with the dealer writing it on the invoice) IT'S WHAT IS IN THE CHRYSLER COMPUTER that counts. If I were buying a 2-year old "New" car, I would confirm the in-service date (either with the dealer showing it to me in the computer and getting a printout, or calling the Chrysler help line with the VIN) to confirm. If I'm not mistaken, even the Chrysler Max Care Extended Warrantee starts on the in-service date, not the purchase date (if they are different). -GRROWL This message has been edited by GRROWL on 02-21-2004 at 09:55 AM |

quote: GRROWL, I can tell you that General Motors used to do that to their dealers all the time. They would not let us have more new models until we showed the left over models delivered. We didn't have to title them. Just show them delivered so that the units didn't show in their inventory. We had several customers run into problems later when their cars showed up as older than they thought. It didn't take me long to realize it was a bad situation. I never would do it, so it cost me inventory when I neaded it. You play the game their way or else. |
