Why do you think Chrysler/Plymouth produced the Prowler?..It surely was not a money maker with only 11000+ produced..Was it to bring attention to the entire product line?..Personally I don't know why but I do know my life is much richer because they did...Larry |

Any car like this will attract folks in to the dealer (Viper, Corvette, etc.) they look, dream, then buy the mini-van (lol!) So, that is obviously one consideration. I think the Prowler was a design concept to accomplish two things, one, quick time to market. In part accomplished by utilizing parts from existing parts bins. Two, to step out into new technology (aluminum frame and body panels, magnesium dash) in a production car. I think the tooling to build this car was also designed from the outset to only be able to build 10-15 thousand units (again, so the could get product to market quicker). So regardless of demand, it was to be a fairly low volume vehicle. |

I think it was designed to help establish Chrysler as an innvovative automaker. It helps add excitement to the brand. |
