In the #14 issue of DUB Magazine, there is an article about a couple of Rappers, Bird and Lil' Wayne. The article talks about their wealth and their excessive spending habits. The article states that "in their driveway along, they've got enough cars to open up a used exotic car dealership and as rumor has it, they're neighborhood association isn't too happy with their accummulations of cars. It's been rumored that the neighborhood committee has tried on several occasions to fine them as their cars "littered" the streets of the neighborhood. But whether or not it is true is besides the point, as their fleet of vehicles is all sitting pretty, washed and waxed in the driveway, begging to be driven. The first thing that you notice are the three 2002 Chrysler PT Cruisers that are parked in the driveway."

Now as you look at the picture we can all see that those are NOT PT Cruisers!!!! I can't believe they identified the cats incorrectly!.

The article goes on to say that "Parked beside them is a stretched PT Cruiser which is setting on a set of 20's."

I think I will send the author of the article a little note....

Maybe they do call them "Prowler Trash" but those are the kind of neighbors I'd like to have on both sides and across the street! Anyway please send that knuckhead a note so he understands the difference between PT Cruiser trash and Prowler trash! I'm picky about the trash I hang out with...

Funny that, I don't even think my neighbors know or care that I have Prowlers... they all call me the "bike" guy.

I actually did send the author an email last night ..............

quote:
Mr. Jarsa,

I just read your article in the #14 issue of DUB enitled "Birdman". I read with interest the part about the automobiles that are owned by Baby and Lil' Wayne. The photo which shows three of the same vehicle in the driveway were identified in your article as 2002 Pt Cruisers. As an owner of two of these vehicles myself (a 1999 Black and a 2002 Candy Red), I would like to point out to you that these are NOT PT Cruisers. The Black Prowler would be either a 1999 or 2000 model, the red would be a 1999 or 2000 model and the silver would be a 2000, 2001 or 2002 model. I think it's great that they are interested in Chrysler vehicles enough to own them, but it would have been nice if they had been correctly identified in the article. The Prowler is actually a pretty rare vehicle in that there were only 11,703 of them built in the 5-year life of the car. There are more Corvettes built in a month than there were Prowlers built in it's entire build life!

I belong to and am very active on a Prowler website called www.prowleronline.com We have over 3,000 members who take great pride in their Prowlers. The Prowler is an awesome vehicle, but it seems that the media has a difficult time giving it the respect it deserves. It would be nice if writers could at least identify it properly.

I had the pleasure of meeting Myles Kovacs at this year's SEMA show in Las Vegas when he spent some time with my husband, Bob Longstreth, who works for DaimlerChrysler. Based on the knowledge and enthusiasm that Myles and his staff have of automobiles, I guess I am more than surprised that no one caught this error.

Thank you for your time.

I received this response back this morning...........

quote:
CJ,

You’re absolutely right! I just went over the article and noticed that I did indeed label the Prowlers incorrectly. How that happened I don’t know as it is only obvious that the three lovely vehicles were Prowlers! On behalf of DUB I would like to apologize for this huge mistake.

I would also like to take the time out to thank you for reading the magazine and for notifying us of this discrepancy. You will be happy to know that our next issue (Issue 17) will be featuring yet another Prowler owned by the actress Raven Simone.

Thanks again and please reply back with a mailing address so I can send you out a care package. Have a great day and a Happy New Year!

I was surprised to have received a response back so quickly and a pleasant one at that!!! It will be interesting to see the next article which includes Raven Simone's Prowler. For those of you who might not remember who she is, she played Olivia, the youngest daughter of Bill Cosby on the Bill Cosby show. She's grown up now and also had a tv sitcom called "That's So Raven". At least she has good taste in cars!!!
