I would not normally write something like this, but I thought I'd share my experience in case anyone might decide to buy a car or parts from this dealer. I've had my 01 Prowler in for service at this dealer several times for numerous problems, most recently having to do with the air conditioner. The a/c either doesn't come on at all or cuts off after 20 minutes or so. It's been to this dealer 3 times for this issue and each time they tell me they fixed the problem. They had my car for 4 days during their last attempt and they said I had a bad battery which was causing the a/c to malfunction. I’m definitely not the type of person who works on cars, but I'm smart enough to know they're feeding me a bunch of BS. The service advisor swore this should fix it, so I drove it home and 20 minutes into the drive, the a/c cut out again. I have called the service advisor back several times and he promises to get me a rental car, but he NEVER calls me back. I don't think he has called me once the entire time they have had my car in the shop. I have to call him constantly to check on the status. I'm about to either lemon law the car (it's been in the shop for close or right at 30 days already) or me and my friends are going to stand outside the dealer with picket signs and call the local news. I love my car and hate that I have to go through this every time I need service done. I’ve taken it to 3 different dealers and I’ve only received halfway decent service at one, but it was 150 miles away. I’ll never buy a Chrysler product ever again. |

Sorry to hear that you have had so many bad experiences with dealers in your area. I do not think that is a good reason to write off Chrysler entirely. All car makers occasionally make a "lemon" but that doesn't mean they don't build good quality vehicles. We have several good dealers (both Dodge and Chrysler) in the Orlando area where the local owners take their Prowlers for service. Each individual swears by their dealership and mechanic. Bill Gallagher uses Orlando Dodge and I use Courtesy Chrysler, as do several other Prowler owners. If you want to bring it to Orlando for service (I know that is a long way) give Steven Fitzgerald at Courtesy Chrysler a call and see if he can help you out. He is a registered user here (FiveStar Dealer I believe) so you could send him an email and get their 800 number (I don't know it). Their local number is (407) 831-2828 x257. Good luck in getting your a/c problems fixed. -- Rick |

Sorry to hear about your bad service at Caruso. Although I haven't ever had to deal w/ them on a service issue, Alan in the parts department sells everything at employee prices. Rkstr |

super D - sounds like they put your cat in stall 88 for service work,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they only have 87 stalls. I'd go to another dealer now, and don't mention the past problems,,,,,,see what happens. JMO |

The fact that the car is a lemon isn't even the part that bothers me. If only someone had just taken responsibility and said they'd fix the problems as they happened, I would of been perfectly happy. I'm still under the factory warranty and can't even get good service. I feel like I wasted my money on the extended warranty. Thanks to everyone that responded. |

STAY IN THERE, DON'T LET THEM BEAT YOU, THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ANY PROWLER OWNER! AIR CONDITIONING SHOULD NOT BE THE HARDEST THING IN THE WORLD FOR THEM TO FIX - TRY ANOTHER DEALER. GOOD LUCK!!! BILL IN OREGON |

Don't sell out Chrysler on one bone head dealer. I've encountered one when I moved and ended up back at my original folks who i dealt with for over twenty years...yeah it's a hassle to drive over 50 miles for service, but if they do it right it's worth it. Let the peop[le at D/C know. they freaked out when a five star dealer refused normal service and and oil change because "I didn't buy it there" Now they won't leave me alone. Please come in for service...we love you! I guess they got the word. (I own 4 D/C products at the present time) $$$$$$$ |

One thing I've noticed about Chrysler is they don't seem to care about the level of customer satisfaction their dealers are providing. Whenever I take in my GMC or my Honda for service, I get a questioneer card in the mail from the respective corporation. The dealers are very concerned about the results, so much so that my GM dealer says if you give them all "5's" on the card, they will give you a free oil change. Maybe if D/C did this they would be able to identify and correct problems rather than simply piss off customers who will buy their next car from another manufacturer. I too use Caruso for my primary Prowler service. I have had no problems. But for one upgrade that I have done, Caruso was very apprehensive about doing it. Their hedging had me concerned, that had they done the upgrade, that the service charge would have been astronomical. But through this site I was given the name of a Prowler Tech at Garber Chrysler in Green Cove Springs (named Ken Albert). I contacted him. He had done this exchange many times and felt confident that he could do it in less than three hours. So, an appointment I made. Took the pleasant drive to Green Cove Springs. And actually got to assist in the exchange of my stock front struts for chrome ones. I learned quite a bit and had a great experience. Ken truly knows his job. He is both a Prowler Tech and a Viper Tech. Before you throw in the towel, you might want to give Ken a call. Terry |

BELEIVE ME----STAY AWAY!!!!!I would tell my horror story with Caruso but my therapist says I should try and put it behind me! Lets just say they have THE WORST customer service on the planet AND are rude and unknowledgeable. I guess that covers it! Tom |

There are only two dealerships that I would let work on my Prowler: Ken Albert at Garber in Green Cove Springs and Orlando Dodge in Orlando. All the other ones broke more than they fixed and do not have a clue. ------------------ • MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |

My plan is to get rid of the Prowler and get a Infiniti G35 Coupe over the weekend. The headlight switch just broke tonight and I'm pretty confident that it's a sign that I need to get rid of it as soon as possible. It was fun while it lasted and there's no doubt that I will miss it. |
