When I went over to the Tail of the dragon site I was surprised to find another picture. Herb told me about this on Thursday but, I didn't realize the car had damage (no human injuries). No wonder he was a little worried about us driving the SRT-10 Viper trucks in the afternoon... The pics and stories are from the tailofthedragon web site... Thursday August 28, 2003: The Dragon Claims Another ... A factory test Viper came to slay the Dragon and got bit and spit-out while many BMWs made it safely across. Wednesday August 27, 2003: The Dragon was crawling with Prowlers and BMWs on the way to their annual meeting in SC. There were 110 Prowlers attending a nearby rally and most of them "did" the Dragon. One had to swerve to avoid hitting a stalled car in a blind corner and went off the steep bank some 40 feet. Miraculously the driver and occupant were uninjured. A potential deadly accident turned into a party atmosphere SEE PHOTO ABOVE. The car, with minor damage, was pulled-out with a wrecker and went on its way. Again, we're thankful, we can now laugh about it... ------------------ |

Wow, bad week for Chrysler at the Dragon ! About the 2 police officers in our group photo...They were a couple of great guys, they were very helpful during the whole ordeal. They were definitely a couple of Tennessee's finest! ------------------ |

quote: Ed - there may have been some motorcycles but on our little excursion before the "over the edge"incident, we came across about a dozen BMW roadsters. They were having an event and there were hundreds at a hotel in Gatlinburg. The hotel called us trying to get s to book our next Prowler event at their place. Marty |

Sorry, Marty, I was wrong. I thought the biggie was the motorcycles. I don't think I saw a single BMW car while we were there, come to think of it. |

Man - was a big week for BMW then. Our friends were also there with over 500 BMW motorcycles in Gatlinburg. |

Yep-they were both there - cars and motorcycles. Ed didn't know about the cars, I didn't know about the MC's. It seems the Z3'x and Z4's were going to visit the factory in South Carolina. It doesn't really mattter - Prowlers are cooler!!!!!! |
