I enjoyed the threads about the PTS event, and will definitely have to join in the fun at a future event. Just stumbled across this site a few days ago. I have an 01 Orange Kat that I will be taking cross country in the next few weeks as part of a move. I was going to trailer it, but I started thinking about how much fun it would be to actually drive it the 2000 miles, so here goes.... I bought a bra and set of mudflaps, which I will install, but I'm somewhat concerned about protecting the rocker panels and leading edge of rear quarter panels. Is there some way to protect them, even temporarily, for the trip? I've seen a kind of clear film that's made to protect your headlight lens that's recommended for trips up the alaska hwy, but don't know if it can be used on a painted surface. Maybe there's another solution. Any thoughts welcome! Thanks in advance. |

Jeff, 3M tape should protect the rockers and they make a clear protectant for the lights also. Good Luck! |

jeff - where are you moving to? 3M clear for the rockers will work, but is expensive. Stay out of the rocks! WELCOME TO THE POA - Join us often and feel free to ask questions. ENJOY THE RIDE ------------------ 27,000 miles of smiles

Thanks for your replies. I'm not familiar with 3M tape--is it an AutoZone/PEP boys kinda thing? Is it safe to leave on for a few days for the trip? In answer to your other question, I'm moving from western pennsylvania to central Utah. See ya on the superslab! |
