I am having a really hard time with Chrysler regarding my front wheels. They were repalced under warrenty about five months ago but since then I have been back to the dealership here in Orlando five to six times. The 1st set that came in were causing the front end to shake. Back to the dealership only to find out both wheels were 38/1000's out of horizantal plane. New ones were ordered and when those came in, back I went to have these new ones installed. Again one of the wheels was so bad that it could not even be balanced. So they took the worst one off the prowler and put the best of the new ones on.
This has happened four times. That a total of 9 American Racing Wheels that are bad. Now the Dealership indicates that the Zone Rep is holding up replacing these with new ones because they feel they have done their best.

Any one else had this problem dealing with Chrysler on this or other things? I would like to hear from you and get your input on what I should do to get my car taken care of the way it should be.

This all Started with us going to the dealership in Green Cove Springs, these guys were the BEST. However due to the distance they suggested we go to Central Florida Chrysler Jeep the new one on Sand Lake & John Young.

The service manager in Green Cove called them and made the arragements to have the new wheel ship to them.

Bad Mistake on my part.

They acted as if nothing had been arranged nor did they seem to care, they told me the car had to completely inspected and they had to determine if the wheel needed replaced and to get approval from the Zone Rep.

They got approval and changed the wheel and found it to be another bad. So now they are asking the Zone again if they should try to get another wheel . . I get the impression they are hoping I just go away becasue they do not call me back as they promised and it has become a chasing game.

Any indea's on what I can do?

You may want to try Orlando Dodge to see if they can help you. I also used to go to Green Cove Springs, but I am over driving the distance to have my car serviced. So far, Orlando Dodge has been the only dealership in Orlando that has been able to fix things without breaking anything else and have fixed things that other dealerships have just blown off.

It would be foolish for dealer to not want to replace wheels since they recieve cost plus 25%and labor.

Hi Bill,

I know its in the dealerships best interest but sometimes they get so caught up in just being buttheads, they forget to be people instead of machines. I'll talk to the guys at the Doge dealership and see if they can offer help or suggest what I should do.

Freedom Dodge in Lexington KY has the same story. We are on wheel #5 and it is still out of round. Now their story is that the manufacturer is being blamed and all wheels are on backorder. Freedom could not tell me how long until a ship date. Good Luck. And thanks for letting me know I am not alone.

What about the lemon law, seems like that might help with getting the wheels replaced?

I called DC yesterday and have discussed this and have requested that they contact American Racing and get it resolved. One thing i found out is that when the wheels are replaced due to pitting/peeling they are recromed and re-used. One would have to think that the re-chroming process might cause the wheels to become out of spec, from the heat and or polishing.

I don't know this for sure but something is not quite right and I have asked DC to get to the bottome of this. Like your we have a very special car and it should be kept in perfect order as well as all the other Kat's on the road.

I think everyone who is having this problem needs to call customer service at DC and log a complaint.
