hey guys im new to this forum and am curently a nissan 350Z owner...however i have always loved the prowler and recently checked sites such as ebay and found that used prowlers with around 20k miles are going for about 30k...so im quit interested in maybe trading in my z... how do you guys like your cars, are they high maintenance, anyone drive it daily, what kind of problems might be associated with a 2-3 yr old prowler with 20k miles on it... thanks for any help |

Welcome to POA! I am a woman owner that has two Prowlers, a 99 Black and an 02 Candy Red. I absolutely love both of them and I've had no problems with either one. I have approx. 12,200 miles on the 99 and 9800 on the Candy Red. I live in Michigan, so I have a shorter season of driving then some owners, but I drive them every day it's not raining. ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

I have put lots of miles on lots of Prowlers.....no major maintenance problems at all and only a couple of minor ones....put about 50,000 miles on them in the last 4 years.....drove most of them daily....the last one had about 26k miles on it when I sold it....drove it rain, snow etc....just used it like any other car....limited storage, but that is really about the only drawback to daily use I found....no, they don't ride like a Caddy, but if ride is what you are looking for, you are looking at the wrong car....performance isn't a strong point, but it is quite adequate....all in all, they are just about the most fun car to own you could ever imagine....get one as soon as you can, and drive it as often as you can... |

HI, I JUST BOUGHT A PROWLER A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, THERE ARE SOME GOOD DEALS OUT THERE, IT DOESN'T RIDE LIKE A CADILLAC, MORE LIKE A INDY CAR, BUT IT'S A BLAST, I DRIVE IT AS MUCH AS I CAN. CAN'T WAIT TILL I CAN GET PROWLER NUMBER 2 |

Buy a newer one low miles--I bought a 2002 Candy 1200 miles and a 2001 blue a month ago with 200. I paid around $36000 for each one. If your getting a loan $5000 or so over 48 months isn't that much difference in your monthly payments. JMO. Great Car lots of fun, if your young and looking to meet girls WOW its the Car. Wish i had one at 18!!! ------------------ |

I got mine used and saved a bunch if your thinking of trading the z to make the prowler your daily rider. Do some deep thinking. some folks do it but I would say the majority have it more for pleasure why. A Very Limited car, small trunk space, roof may leak, visibility top down is not the best and limited passenger space. Take a seat in one before just jumping. I'm not trying to sound negative this has to be one of best and unique cars ever made but think what I just said. People love this car. I worry more about it because everyone wants to touch it, go inside etc. You won't believe how much attention you may get since its so rare. In summary Buy one!! Its the best car ever, just be sure to look at your usage, the cars purpose, the area that you live on and your driving purpose. Then you will be smiling like the rest of us!! |

Most people don't drive their Prowler's daily for a variety of reasons. I drive mine daily and have almost 60,000 miles on it. Maintance has been on par with the two Sebring Convertibles I have owned other than the rear tires are more expensive and I never did ANY modifications to either Sebring. You would be surprised how much you can fit in the Prowler if you pack in soft sided bags. I can get two weeks groceries in the front seat and floorboard. Weeklong trips are accomodated with extra storage help from a trailer. As a daliy driver, I have to expect normal chips and wear and tear. The upside is I get to enjoy driving my kat EVERYDAY !! It may not be a s fast as a 350Z stock, but you can always add performance mods! Marty ------------------ |
