I just purchased my extended warranty from the dealership where Bruce Hazelton works today. His referral, Bob Haisler (must be sales mgr?), informed me effective 4/01/04, there will be an additional surcharge on extended warranties for Prowlers and Vipers. Tne surcharge adds almost $600 (dealer cost)to the cost of the warranty. |

Was the warranty from your dealership? I was just about to call for one. How much/how long? |

Not my dealer, searched the posts for leads. Called 3 dealers mentioned on our website to check prices. This one had the best price, plus he let me know about the new surcharge. No one else mentioned this to me. I went with the 7 year, 50,000 Mile Max Care, $0 Deductible. From what I researched, this seems to be a popular option. It cost about a $1000. Dealer # is 1.800.824.1784 - Bob Haisler. They are in Southern Wisconsin. |

Laddie had a great connection at Causeway Chrysler in LA that has been offering the extended Chrysler warranty to us at a terrific price for a long time. I believe they still offer it. Search Causeway to find the contact. This message has been edited by MIKE GATLIN on 03-30-2004 at 07:35 AM |

My finance manager will sell to ALL POA members any type of Chrysler contract (there are many miles & times to choose from) for $50 over our cost!!! All Prowlers have a service charge Chrysler imposes. That charge will go way up April 1. Call Bob 1-800-824-1784 and tell him Bruce sent ya! YES THESE ARE ALL CHRYSLER SERVICE CONTRACTS!!! ------------------ This message has been edited by bruce hazelton on 04-01-2004 at 07:52 AM |

Bruce - I have DC extended service contracts on all three of my Prowlers but I think I went with a different time frame/mileage/deductible on each of them. I would like to "modify" them to make them all the same. I was able to change a GM service contract in the past and just wondered if you knew if this was possible with DC? ------------------ |

Are these Chrysler, Dealer Warranties or third party? Recently inquired locally for the extended warranty costs for my 02'kandi(in Canada). Was quoted $1,900.00 plus $600.00 prowler surcharge, plus $500.00 because I was into the second year of ownership. That totals $2,900.00 Canadian funds, at today's exchange rate that is $2,218.00 US funds. If I wait another year, add another $500.00. I told him in the US they were going for about $1,200.00, his replies was, "I have no idea what they do in the US." This is a Chrysler warranty, have been told to stay clear of third party warranties. This cost seems extremely high, should the difference be that much? I see the US prices and think that's not bad, but when I see what they are charging in Canada it seems extreme. |

I talked to Bob and he has handled many calls from Prowler owners. Alot have bought the warranty becasuse of the impending increase. I suggest you call him. He seems sincerely interested in providing this service and he gets a few bucks for each. Sounds like your Canada people are reading right off the retail price list. |

I called Bob yesterday and got the 7 yr. for $1200. I have a 99. Wish I had joined POA earlier. Paid $375 for a window motor replacement - both went out at the same time, driver's side is on B/O. Mailed my POA donation yesterday. |

I got in under the wire. March 31st, From Wisconsin, I got the 7 year, 50k mile Chrysler warranty extension for my red 2000. I cost about $1250 for the no deductible version. Since I was usually quoted about 2080 to 3500, I'm a happy camper! |

Just calleed to Bob Haisler, he now tells me I don't qualify for the Warranty! He didn't know my Cat was over 4 yrs old. There may be a similar new plan coming out in Aug. that will take me. The plans now available to me are not good. I'm going naked until Aug. Oh, well. POA can still cash my check This message has been edited by Flyboy on 04-02-2004 at 02:13 PM |

Once again the Prowler owner intelligence shows you know a great deal when you see one!! Bob has sold contracts to 12 of you so far!! As I mentioned before, the surcharge Chrysler puts on Prowlers, Vipers, etc. went up April 1, $275. It now costs the dealer $550 in addition to the type of contract you select. All Bob is making for our dealership is $50. So even if you missed saving $275 you can still call Bob and get a contract for $50 over cost. Bob told me to mention he will be on vacation form April 9 to the 19th. Bruce ------------------ |

Flyboy - Let us know when it comes out if you hear anything further. I saw your post and wondered how you were getting the extended warranty on your car, cause I tried getting one on my 97 and couldn't cause it was over 4 yrs old, but I just thought you had a 99 with an under 4 yr old in service date... I've been flying solo for going on 4 years now. |
