Just received my insurance from Safeco. My premiums went up from $330/half to $680/half. Apparently they are rating the cars differently and they are spreading my two teenagers across all of the cars..... can anyone help with a company who rates these things favorably ?

Thanks,

John

Thanks -

I purchased a car yesterday - 45 minutes after I owned it it was rear ended in an accident (I was in a sandwich shop)when a guy fell asleep. Progressive was the insurance company. They had a wrecker there in 30 minutes , towed the car to my body shop and provided extra $$$$ to fix the car properly. They then had Enterprise there with a rental for me, upgraded to a full size at no cost (I am in sales and needed a full size four door). I was really impressed with the service from Progressive. I will check it out.

Thanks,

John

When i was driven off the road a few months ago with the S-Type-R they wanted to give me a check the next day, and rental car. I took the rental car but not the check. I waited for the other guys insurance to pay for it i wasn't taking any chances. I'm sure you could find someone to put down every insurance co. out there. And just the same, say something positive. Good luck call around see who's best for you!!!

I have been happy with GEICO and they rate the Prowler favorably. I have a truck, PT Cruiser, & 2 Prowlers with $500.00 deductible for less than $2,500.00 year.

I have not had any claims but my son did on his policy and it was settled quickly and he was very happy with the outcome.

I have ALLSTATE. I have not had any problems as of yet. I hit a cat in my prowler and it did over 2000.00 worth of damage and they replaced everything even my rear wheel. I currently have a 94 mustang, 99 prowler, 00 navigator, 02 mercedes benz and im paying around 2800.00 a year for all of them with coverages of 100,000.00 in collision and 500,000.00 in medical coverage for each person. I have 500.00 deductible in collision and 100.00 in comprehensive. Check this out the most expensive on is the navigator!!!!

The reason I went collector Car Ins.is it is affordable, I insure 2001 Prowler and 1967 Camaro show car and both are insured for under $900.00 a year. Full coverage w/no deductible and agreed value in the event of total loss I will get the appropriate value on the vehicle ,not what the INSURANCE Co feels is far market value! I also insure four other autos on regular insurance and two of those are commercial and commercial ins., so you have to save a BUCK some how.

I have a 50K stated value policy with Grundy at $738 a year with no mileage limitations or deductable. This was cheapest for me in my area.

Wow,

Great input - I like the stated value option as I can just see something happening and them offering me 25K for the car. I will investigate all of these this week. Thanks for the replies.

Just got my State Farm premium notice yesterday. Went from $288/6 months to even $300/6 months. If they keep going up, I'm going with Gundy. I like the set value issue.

I have Grundy,(Chubb Insurance),and they're great!
Not only are their rates competitive, but THEY PAY!!!
I unfortunatly had a street rod stolen(theft by deception, bad check, etc). They sent out my check right at 30 days, no hassle, Great Company.

I think insurance rates take into account many factors beside the obvious(age of the driver, driving record...).
If you live in the city, you pay more than if you live rural,if you have multiple cars with the same company you get a break etc.
My premiums are $1200 per year or about $800 U.S.
Not bad for Toronto!

So far Grundy wins - will insure my 67 firebird for 20K , 66 Deville Conv. for 20K and the Prowler for 40K ..... Ready for this ?

ALL FOR $837 PER YEAR !!!!!

Safeco wanted $587 per half on the Prowler only and that was not replacement (agreed to value) Insurance.

I will be changing to Grundy. Thanks for all the assistance. Really appreciate it !

Sincerely,

John
