Just yesterday I bought Chrysler's 7-year, 60,000 mile extended warranty which covers nearly everything imaginable including road hazard coverage for our $395.00 tires, at $100.00 over dealer cost. I used one generous offer from the Covington, LA Chrysler dealer and asked my local shop to match it. They agreed to. I went with the longest annual program but cut the mileage end of it as I'm not putting more than 5K on the odometer annually anyway. I'll hit the 7th year long before I hit 60,000 miles for sure. That would be my suggestion....go with Chrysler's own program so there's never a question about the programs viability as the years go by. ------------------ |

I have a Warranty Gold on all three cars including the Cat. They have been very good so far in fact they are paying for the rebuild of the transmission right now. Mine are all Diamond level with zero deductible. ------------------ |

I am really leaning towards the Warranty Gold extended warranty after finding out that the day you purchase the warranty is the date it becomes active. For instance, if you get a five year/100,000 mile warranty today, the warranty is in service from today for five years or until the odometer hits 100,000 miles. Now with the one year free warranty and the 0% financing for a year, it becomes more attractive. I am now just trying to figure out which policy to get. Unless, anyone has had any bad experiences with Warranty Gold, it most likely is the one I will be going with. ------------------ MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |

Same thing with coverage through Chrysler. I just got a three year 100,000 mile policy from Causway Chrysler. Paperwork is on the way, but I was told mileage is based on total miles on vehicle, and years from date of purchase of warranty. Since I put 27,000 to 30,000 miles a year on my car and I have almost 24K now, I chose the 3 year/100K option. Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |

My car ran out of warranty last June. I don't think I can get an extended warranty from Chrysler AFTER the warranty expires even though there is only 26K on the odometer. I called Warranty Gold yesterday and they were VERY helpful and WILLING to deal on the price! I will probably also go with them unless someone has had a problem with them. By the way...here is a sentence from their contract regarding the effective date: Coverage under the New Car Contract will take effect 30 days and 1,000 miles after Contract purchase date and will expire according to the time and/or mileage of the plan selected, whichever occurs first, as shown on the Declaration Page. ------------------ This message has been edited by KenG on 03-05-2002 at 08:32 AM |

Depends on the coverage you buy go to their web site they explain it pretty well. I have the Diamond level so just about everything is covered other than normal wear and tear items. ------------------ |

Al, When I called Warranty Gold yesterday, I mentioned your name. I am still undecided if I am going with them, and if I do, which plan to purchase. I am still working on estimated mileage and how long I plan on keeping the car. One of the nice things about there warranties is that they prorate it if you decide to later on cancel the policy. ------------------ MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |

I was considering going with Warranty Gold last week until they called me four times in two days, trying to sell me a warranty. Each time, it was someone different, from the initial sales guy to I believe the sales manager's mother , giving me a lower price. I asked them to give me the lowest price from the beginning, but they kept going lower and lower. So I am waiting for them to call back with an even lower price on Monday. |
