....and it breaks the tires loose when you nail the throttle without the nitrous!!! Norm Brandes at Westech Automotive called tonight and said he just picked the car up from getting the recall work done so I won't have to worry about it when driving home from Wisconsin later this week. He said the car has a lot more torque and may get even more if I replace the glass packs or get a little more backpressure. (He also said "it is LOUD) It's running rich right now and tomorrow they will do some dyno testing/tuning of the air/fuel mapping and start to reinstall the nitrous kit.. I'll post more detail later this week in the performance section once I get details of the dyno runs, etc. Guess I better start looking for my 3rd set of rear tires! ------------------ |

Bruce - when I travel I usually pick up a copy of the current Hot Rod magazine. Norm and/or Westech is mentioned somewhere in almost every engine. Bob Longstreth suggested I contact Norm about my engine rebuild. Norm is building a 550 + HP engine for Bob's '65 Rambler and also built Mike Krehel's stroker engine which he finished last fall just prior to me damaging mine. I met Norm at the PRI (Performance Racing) trade show in Indinapolis in December and decided to have Norm "do his thing" with my engine rebuild. Jeff - it will be BETTER this time since I won't be able to damage it as easily this time (assuming I don't get greedy and try to go for a huge nitrous shot like 300 HP or something else stupid!) |

Congrats Marty! I know you have been waiting for that phone call to say the Kats coming home for a looooooong time. Now that Norms come thru for you so yours is ready for this weekend I hope the 3 people I am waiting on do the same! They found my rims yesterday in the Chicago warehouse, they have been there for 2 weeks and they had the balls to tell me it was going to cost extra to get them here today. |

Marty, I went out in your car yesterday and let me tell you it is quick. You better bring a new set of rear tires, we have almost reached the cords on both tires just trying it out. What time do I pick you up tomorrow at the airport? Thanks, Bob ------------------ |
