I think most get scraped. Not sure why, they be a good auction item or charity event vehicle but, thre probably is some legal reason as to why.

CJ, why do so many get scraped though?

Is it because they are unfinished cars or lack key safety elements or legal ramifications? Just curious as some would be a hoot to one, even if not to drive daily.

YF - During the development of any new vehicle, the manufacturer builds several phases of pre-production vehicles. The same holds true for a car like Prowler. You've seen the original concept Prowler, which is very different from the production car. They also built a number of chassis mules with Jeep Wrangler bodies (Prangler). All of the pre-production vehicles are scrapped. There are a number of legal and liability reasons for this process. None of these cars are actually certified to meet all applicable Federal safety standards. Even the ones that are close to the real production cars are scrapped because of the rigorous testing that they undergo.
