OK I'll make this short. Car went in dealer Oct14 for problem I was having at CTC with low tire sensor. They calibrated, recalibrated, changed module and now after me screaming , I WANT MY CAR, they have decided to replace the sensors. Hopefully next week I might see my car, FIXED!
NOW TO THE BEST, on top of all this they try to say the problem is the valve caps allowing moister into the sensors. After showing them the caps have rubber inserts like the original caps they are then at a loss for what to say. So I ask, IF the caps have a rubber to keep out moister that may get into the sensors when in rain or when washing the car then how are we suppose to check and ADD AIR to our tires to keep them properly inflated when EVERYplace you get air has MOISTER/WATER in the air line that injects it directly into the sensor. Where are they expecting us to fill our tires, A PAINT BOOTH???
This is the only place I know that has complete removal of water from the air lines in order to paint without moister.
What don't I understand here????

These are the kind of answers one gets when a dealer doesn't have a clue to what he's doing.

Been there, been through that. The new sensors have been in place in my cat for over a year. No problems so far.

I have had all my sensors replaced twice on my 1999 and the computer module replaced once along with several sensors replaced one at a time. For the last 6 months everything seems OK.
On the 1999 every time I spent several days over 5,000 feet I would get the low tire light on solid indicating a system failure.
Have had no problems with warranty because of a pre existing condition and several trips to the dealer.
Haven't had any problems with the 2001.
Good luck and hopefully you'll get some good sensors.

I have only had a problem with one sensor shortly after I bought my Kat. The re calibrated it and I have had no problems since in over 3 years.

I have had all the problems Phil has had.. and more. And still haven't beaten this wrap but I keep thinking I'll solve it some day.

I'm starting to a put a value on the time it takes to make these trips to the dealers. It's real money. And often you have to go to a outside tire shop to break down the tires. Thats more time and money.

So I'm considering going with non run flats and bagging the sensor system but just not quite there yet.

I think Phil has a real deal going with the pre-existing condition situation. I haven't been that fortune. No dealer I've been to will go for that.

It seems to me this is something they should realize is thier screw up and work with us to correct. Sensors must stay dry,air up your tire and that idear just went to sh**
. So how do you put air and keep the sensor dry.

Question for those of you that have gone to SP9000's, have you shut off the system or does the sensor get removed when the regular valve stem is installed.
Scarry though but I'm real close to turning off the system.
