The transmission problem on my X black cat is finally come to an end and the dealer sold the car to a young man whom Ive only talked to on the phone so far and asked him to join POA. It took the Prowler tech 42 shop hours to fix the cat turned out that when I installed the MTD cold air system I had the heat shield mounted in such a way that it was touching the harness down the fire wall as it turns in the body and over a long period of time the sharp edge cut a small slice in the harness shorting at times the wire to the TCM putting a monemteary draw causeing an interruption in the signal to the solinoid pack which caused it to go into limp mode at 100.00 per hour Im glad I traded Black Cat for "SUNKIST" and yes am going to install a new MTD on the new cat real soon but will be more careful assumeing the later car has the same harness routeing block-buster ------------------ This message has been edited by cmblockhus on 10-20-2002 at 10:36 AM |

Curtis, I bet you glad you found out what it was. Now you can enjoy the "SunKist" with a clear mind. Bob ------------------ This message has been edited by hack1320 on 10-20-2002 at 03:02 PM |

blockbuster - did you have the MTD cold air intake that has a long tube that goes way down in front of the cat converter, or the newer design MTD air intake system? Just wondering? |

Was the late one short and to the right, like I said I installed it and didnt check for interference at the time. MY Fault, looking at the picture on the e-bay add I belive I had turned the heat shield a little when I installed it. block-buster |

Thanks Curtis. Wish you could have found the problem in Arizona, and continued your planned vacation. 42 hours to locate the problem,,,,amazing. |
